-Absolute Zero's POV-

Her steps were pattering against the concrete as she walked toward the front door. The lights glowed a luminescent yellow in the night sky. When she reached the doors that stood in front of the abandoned apartment, she breathed out a lungful of air. Her nails grew into claws. As she reached her hand to her back, she ripped the fabric of her school uniform. Two slits of her clothes were created as openings. Beautiful black wings were retracted from the dip of her shoulder blades. Raven wings were draped on either side of her body. Lifting her hand up, she pulled out a feather like it was a fruit ready to be picked.

Focusing, the young girl manipulated the black feather into a metal key. She placed the key into the keyhole and turned it clockwise. There was a satisfying click as the door swung open. As she strolled into her house, she took off her combat boots one at a time. She didn't even bother to say,

"I'm home!"

Because there wouldn't be anyone to reply to that. Only empty silence would greet her, unlike the blessed kids who have families and friends and would gather around the dinner table. Absolute Zero headed towards the kitchen. She looked around and smiled. Opening up the cabinet beside the refrigerator, there, in the cabinets, were rows of ramyeon*.

She grinned as colorful words of happiness flooded the room, "Oh! My instant ramyeon!* You never cease to make me smile!" She giggled sadly to herself to distract herself from her horrible school life. She still had a dried trail of blood coming out of her right nostril. All the bruises on her shin from the kids who would kick her were still there, more bold than ever. As she recounted each painful memory, there was a certain reason why Absolute Zero's eyesight started to blur. Even though she didn't know why, she felt it physically. There it was, a single tear falling down the side of her face. She immediately caught on as she wiped the tear gently off of her face.

'W-Why am I crying right now...?'

Unfortunately, she didn't know why, but she didn't want her night to be ruined. She had already ignored the feeling of grief and sadness for a long time. If she could ignore it for fourteen years, she could ignore it for another night.
