He knew it was probably a dream but he let it happen anyway. He felt a body up against his and that damned face he couldn't forget. These lips felt real too. Childe opened his eyes to see Zhongli's closed. One of Childe's hands was under Zhongli's shirt and the other one was on his cheek. He was kissing him in his sleep? What kind of pervert was he?
Zhongli opened his eyes. "Why did you stop?"
"I didn't realize I was doing it-"
"Thank you for kissing me."
"You're thanking me?" Childe chuckled.
"You said not to touch you so I assumed you were not interested in me anymore."
"That's not-" Childe's phone rang, cutting him off. He reached to grab it without looking at the caller ID. He also didn't realize it was a video chat.
"Oho? Bold of you to answer with that handsome gent behind you."
"K-Kaeya?" Childe nearly dropped his phone. "Why are you calling?"
"I have an extra ticket to an aquarium and thought I would invite you," he smiled. Zhongli could sense Childe's heart rate increasing. "Or would you rather go with your friend there?"
"Kaeya!" two arms wrapped around him and the camera shifted as Kaeya talked to the person hugging him. Their sound was muted so he couldn't hear a word Kaeya was saying with his face not even on the screen.
"Sorry about that," Kaeya apologized with a smile.
"I'll go," Childe answered.
"Really?" Kaeya continued smiling. "That's great!"
"Was that all you needed?"
"Yea-"
"Bye then," Childe hung up and threw his phone across the room.
"Do you really want to go?" Zhongli asked.
"Not really," Childe replied.
"Then why are you going?"
"Because he asked me to...?" Childe sighed. "I really miss him...but he didn't want anything serious...with me anyway..." Childe curled up into a ball and hugged his knees.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Zhongli asked.
"No, there is just one extra ticket and I don't really have the spare funds anyway..." Childe sighed.
"Very well," Zhongli shifted to rest on his back.
...
Childe opened the door and Kaeya walked in. "Wait-" Childe moved to stop him but he brushed past and walked in anyway.
"You haven't changed at all, I see," Kaeya snickered.
Zhongli sat with his legs crossed in the desk chair facing the doorway. He was wearing black slacks and a black button-up. Childe had gone out especially to get him new clothes.
"Oh hello," Kaeya eyed him up and down. "My name is Kaeya-"
"I know who you are," Zhongli folded his hands on his legs.
"Well," he smiled even though Zhongli's expression hadn't changed an ounce. "That makes one of us." Kaeya grabbed Childe's shoulder and pointed to Zhongli. "Where did you pick this one up? He is so stiff!"
"His name is Zhongli-" Childe moved his hand to grab Kaeya's and pull it off of him but Kaeya just draped his arm over his shoulder completely, laughing still. Zhongli watched as he casually touched Childe. There it was again. That feeling.
"Let's just go," Childe grabbed Kaeya's arm, dragged it off of him, and then walked out the door.
"Fiestier than I remember," Kaeya whistled as the door closed.
Zhongli stood up and latched it. He rested his forehead against the closed door and sighed. His eyes turned red and flashed. "System failure. Low battery," he muttered and fell backward.
