Come one come all
gather round
join the circus
make a ruckus
as the intro sounds.
See the magician
take the stage
with a kit said to amaze
when he speaks
bring the noise to a cease
let him take center stage.
Hide your disappointment
when the tricks fail
for seeing the fire reveals
there is talent in there somewhere.
Yet even though
the applause echo around
he knows deep down
the show was a letdown.
And so he disappears
for four more years
only to return
when the egos needed him most.
