A BIT OF READING

there (y/n) stood, nearby the wanwen bookhouse.
leaning into the bridge's railing, she waited for xingqiu and chongyun
to get the books they needed, xingqiu was checking to see if the
next and last volume of "heart's desire" were in stock,
while chongyun was looking for clues about
evil spirits.

"my apologies, the last copy was just sold."
jifang, the boss, told xingqiu.
"p-pardon?"

(y/n) chuckled before stopping once xingqiu looked her way.
chongyun, meanwhile sat on the table, checking the papers for any
unusual sightings.

"chongyun, just bring that book with you. we'll be heading to
qingce village." he tugged on his sleeves, (y/n) walked over to the two.
"hmm?" she asked, unconsciously fixing chongyun's sleeve
to which he blushed at.

"i know someone from there, and i need to get that book in my hands.."
the two stared at him before sighing.

"why, if it isn't xingqiu. it's been sometime, need a book or something?"
told a man who lived atop a small cliff.
"it has, chang the ninth. and yes, do you perchance
have a copy of  the volume 4 of hearth's desire?"

"in fact i do, and who are these two?"
"they're dear friends of mine, chongyun and (y/n)."
the said two greeted the man, bowing slightly as a form of
respect, he did the same.

"come in, come in. wait inside while I find it."
"thank you."

the three sat down on a small couch, waiting silently as chang left the small room to
get the book.

once xingqiu had gotten ahold of the book,
they quickly made their way back to liyue harbor, inside xiangling and
(y/n)'s shared bedroom, where xiangling waited for them.

"you're finally back?! where did you guys go?"
xiangling stood up and hugged the three.
"xingqiu dragged us to qince village for some book he wanted."
(y/n) answered.

"needed you mean?" the two could simply roll their eyes.
they sat down on a small table in the room, chatting while xingqiu
read quietly, talking every once in a while.

they spoke for at least thirty minutes, already being four in the afternoon.
though it seemed like it went for just a good few minutes,
they shared many laughs.

"want me to read out loud?"
the three nodded slightly, xiangling getting into a more
comfortable position, lying on her stomach.
xingqiu then cleared his throat, raising the book.

(y/n) let out a quiet yawn, chongyun and xiangling
did the same upon hearing. xingqiu began to speak, voice not once faltering.
" "That's what happened."
After the shopkeeper had spoken, she narrowed her fox-like eyes and examined the customer in front of her..."
(y/n) listened intently, slowly getting tired, though tried her best
not to fall asleep.
'i don't want to make a fool of myself..'

a few minutes later, (y/n) then dozed of, chongyun too getting tired,
he didn't knew why as well, he flinched slightly
once he felt (y/n)'s head fall on his left shoulder, turning red
almost immediately.

xingqiu smirked at this, knowing well what chongyun was feeling,
he had read enough books to know. oh he would know alright.
he nonetheless continued.

chongyun placed her head onto his lap, shifting
her into a more comfortable position as he too dozed off slightly..
