Elizabeth's POV

It's been a couple of days since I brought Alexa to reconnect with Jack and it's been so amazing, watching them share some inside jokes from years ago, and I found out they are so much alike, sometimes I forget that he's not her biological father.

And the way Jack and Grace treat the boys is so adorable, one time I even started crying in front of everyone unintentionally, and they all panicked and asked what was wrong until I just told them that it was just so beautiful to see everyone this way.

In all reality it was because I never thought that my boys would grow up with grandparents, and seing the way Jack and Grace played with them and taught them stuff, it made me realize that they will be their grand parents... maybe soon..

"What's up liz?" Jack asked as I pulled him aside from everyone else who was enjoying the sun and pool.

"I uhmm..." I start to fiddle with my fingers nervously.

"What is it?" He asks and tries to look for my eyes that just kept darting everywhere but his own.

"Damn, I didn't think I'd get this nervous"

"Just take some deep breathes and just tell me what it is hun"

My eyes meet his as i hear what he called me, his big brown curious eyes just stay staring at my blue nervous ones, "I..here I'll just show you.." with that I pull out a ring from my pocket, an engagement ring to be precise.

He just stands there a little in shock and before he can say anything I start to speak again, "i- I wanted to ask for your permission, I know you arent her biolagical father but you damn near are, and it'd mean the whole world to me if you'd give me the permission to marry your daughter... I dont know if this makes you uncomfortable or not but if it does I can just walk back over there and we can pretend this never happened... ijustreallyaminlovewithalexaandiwanttomsrryher" I say the last part very rapidly without taking a break to breathe.

After I'm finally done his eyes soften and he give me a big heartwarming smile, "I have seen you two together and I promise it always makes my day, and the way you two can fix and argument to easily and the way your boys are with her, the way they treat eachother just warms my heart, I couldn't be happier to give you the permission of giving my little girl the life she deserves" he grabs me and engulfs me in a hug, "I will be here if you need anything, or have any questions or need any advice, I'm always here, but right now we should probably get back before they come to find us and she starts suspecting"

"Thank you so much jack," he pulls away and gives me another heartwarming smile, "you have no idea how happy this makes me, and how much less nervous I am now that I know I have someone to be able to and advice from"

"Anytime kiddo" he ruffles up my hair and I shake my head.

We start to walk back but not before he grabs some water for grace and a beer and i grab one for Alexa and some juice boxes for the boys, I decide to speak as we walk back, "you do realize I'm over twenty right?"
