Maya's POV
I wake up to screams coming from downstairs where papa's study is. I dash downstairs via the servant staircase and run in to see papa just passed out as Momma goes to grab our butler to go get our family doctor, I run over to papa and automatically check for a pulse and to see if he's breathing, I check for his pulse and it's not there; I look at mother worriedly "what happened?". "He was just sitting at his desk as we were having a talk about baby you and he just started to grip his chest where his heart is, and groaning in pain.." mother says worriedly as I start to do CPR on papa.

The doctor comes in as mom pulls me back. I start to break down as the doctor starts to do chest compressions, AND THE WRONG WAY well, sorta. The way his hands were positioned was wrong. I look at the doctor then to mom as I start to do chest compressions. My hands in the correct position. The doctor keeps checking for his pulse; finally I  look at the family doctor as he feels for a pulse and listens for a heartbeat.

The doctor gives me a nod and a small smile as I look at mom as we both share a relieved look. I sigh in relief as the butler and the doctor get papa up stairs and into momma and his room. Momma hugs me as we walk up and she goes in and helps our butler get papa settled in for the night. I'm now standing in the doorway as the doctor comes up to me. "He's going to be fine, Maya." The doctor says as I look at him sorta shocked. "H-how?" Was all I could say. He shrugs his shoulder as he turns to mom and tells us to keep an eye on him.

We see the doctor out and mom tucks me in again. "Is he going to be.." I ask now getting cut off by mom as she kisses my forehead and hugs me "you know your father's too stubborn to die and leave me with baby you and William... right Maya Bear?". I giggle quietly at that and nods softly as I yawn. "Looks like someone's getting sleepy..." mom says as she smiles as I say jokingly "I'm not sleepy though...".

Mom starts to laugh quietly as my eyes start to get heavy with tiredness and I fall asleep.

~the next morning~
I wake up and get ready for the day as I walk past momma and papa's room I see papa still asleep and breathing. I sigh softly in relief. I walk downstairs not down the main stairs but the other stairs next to momma and papa's room; I head to the what I call kitchen building and say good morning to them. I grab an apple for myself and the dogs food and their bowls. I head down to the dog enclosures and see all thirteen hounds running up to me. Oh gosh. Why did I want to do this?!

The first one to come up to me as I entered the enclosure was Vulcan. The youngest and newest member of the hound pack. Luckily we don't get the French hounds until I'm five or something. Anyways I start feeding the hounds as mom watches from afar and I wave to her and she smiles and waves back. I smile as the hounds hear me pour food into each of their bowls and they come running up to the fence and I give each one their food and pet them.

I walk back to the Kitchen and put the dogs food up and head back inside via the covered colonnade. Since it was raining, I wanted to sleep but I couldn't. I walked into the house and up to my room and changed into dry clothes, I sit on my bed going through my journal. I can't believe I just realized i brought it with me.

I start writing in it as I feel like checking up on papa. I look up and around the room I get up closing my journal and bringing my pen and ink with me along with my journal. I stand in the doorway of momma and Papa's room as I see papa looking over to me and I walk over and pull up the stool and sit next to him. "Hey little lieutenant..." papa says as I look at him and say sadly "please... don't scare me like that again...".

I end up sitting on the edge of mom and papa's bed as I place my journal and ink and feather pen on the nightstand, I lay bed to papa as he pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry little lieutenant..." Pap says softly as he kissed the top of my head as I relaxed into his arms. My slight anger turned into sadness as I buried my face into his chest as he stroked the top of my hair like a father would his daughter. although this seems like it's happened before i know it hasn't. But he's safe now and that's all that matters to me.
