Uh oh, someones in trouble!

Maya's POV
It was a normal day, except for one thing. Poor little William and I, well more or so William are in trouble? The only thing I remember happening was riding comet around the grounds cause William was missing. Again. He was normally a good kid, at least that's what mom and dad said. "William?!" I call out to him but no answer. My voice was pretty much gone at this point so I did the only thing I had to do. Get papa.

This is what I'm currently doing. I got off of comet and run straight into papa's study as he looked up at me. "Don't.... Freak-" I do my best to say trying to catch my breath as he walks over to me "what's wrong little lieutenant?" He asks worried. I caught my breath as I say "please don't freak out or get mad at me... William is missing somewhere on the grounds and I can't find him... I've looked around the house, I was going to go further but my voice-" I say as my voice went out completely. I looked at papa, oh boy. He looks mad but not too mad? "It's better to offer no excuse, then a bad one" he says as I bite my lip hard. I look at him as I tried to say at least an I'm sorry but hah! No sound came out.

Papa realized I wasn't faking my voice or the fact that Little William was missing. He grabbed a paper so I could write down what happened when all I did was look away for a second and poof gone. Papa looks at me after he reads the note and says "stay here and rest your voice, I'll be back shortly.". He hugs me as I write down for him to keep cool and to be careful. He smiled slightly as he nodded and kissed my head as he left to find William.

I sat in a small lounge type chair  as I read keeping quiet as Mama walked in. "Where's your father and William?" Mama asks as I gave her the note as she shook her head. I gave her a look that says 'I know right?!'. She looks at me as I tried to say something but nothing came out. I gave her the book I was reading. "What do?" She started to ask as I wrote on a small piece of paper 'can you read for me please?'. She smiles softly and nodded as she let me sit next to her as I cuddled up to her as it started to rain and storm badly as I looked at mama worriedly. She had the same look as we heard the front door open and papa giving I'm guessing William a very stern talking to. I didn't know I had been crying since William ran from my eyesight and grasp.

I fall asleep just as mama bookmarks the page we were on and walk to papa. They were talking about William, and then about myself. "George, hun. It was an accident. You know she wouldn't let anyone or anything happen to William. You shouldn't be mad at her, she did what she needed to do. She grabbed Comet and went as far as you let her go on the plantation. You never let her go past the gate without you or me. She was obeying that rule we have set for her. She lost her voice yelling and screaming for William. She's been crying since you left to find William, and now she needs you. She was terrified and scared for William and especially you." I heard mama say as I heard papa.

"I know dearest.. but still, the way she looked at me; she was crying and shaken up, she's never been like that at least until after we arrived here... before when she appeared she wasn't timid or scared really, she was brave and cautious, she still is but before.. she was... taken by king George the third.. she trained and trained but stayed by me or in the tent.. she had Alexander, Lafayette, Hercules and John to keep her company but after we brought her back to camp... she was so so terrified and scared... she was broken.. she gave me that look when she first saw me again... she gave me that look when she ran in and wrote down what happened to William... I'm not cross with her.. just worried.." I hear papa say as he voice cracked as I fell asleep due to tiredness.
