Alexander Hamilton

I walked out of my house in the morning to head to work. I was locking my door when I noticed a note on it.

Dearest Y/N,

I wish you a happy birthday! To find me solve this riddle. (I already asked Mr. Phillip to give you the day off ;-))  If I am broken the thing I tell does not change. If I am wrong I will only be right twice. I have arms but no feet. What am I?

-A. Hamilton

I squealed. Alex was the best. Let's see...

After a few minutes I discovered what it was: a clock. If it is broken time doesn't change. If it's wrong it will be right twice a day and it has arms but no feet.

I quickly headed over to the watch tower. I found another note in front of it with Alexander's seal.

You're getting closer. I pass on secrets. All see me but few know about me. I am always standing. I am as old as can be but still active. What am I?

-A. Hamilton

I thought. I paced back and forth and thought till my brain hurt. Then it hit me: the tree where I put notes for General Washington! I ran as fast as my legs could carry me; getting looks from about everyone.

I finally reached the tree. I looked around to see that no one was looking a stuck my hand into the small opening of the bark.

Last Question. I have the most spectacular view. Many come to see my sunset. Birds and animals play around me. What am I?

-A. Hamilton.

I smiled. This one was easy. By now it was 1 o'clock. I ran into the woods to a small ledge over looking a waterfall Alexander and I had discovered a while back. When I got there I gasped. A picnic was laid out with all my favorite foods.

"Happy Birthday, da Vinci," Alex said.

"Alex, it's wonderful!" I cried. He lead me to the blanket and we were soon chatting up a storm. When we were done eating we both laid down a looked up at the clouds. I let out a content sigh, "This is the best birthday ever."

Alex kissed my cheek.

"I'm glad you think so," he said. He handed me a small packet. I opened it. Inside was a new journal for me to write in.

"Thank you," I said and kissed him. His lips were chapped but I didn't care. I put my hands around his back and he set me in his lap. This was perfect.

John Laurens

4 weeks after the Battle of Yorktown

It was my twentieth birthday today and my father was making a big deal. It was a large party and all my relatives were coming. I stood by the door, welcoming each one that came. But I was sick of this because John hadn't arrived yet.

"I think that's everyone," mother said.

"Not everyone," I answered sadly.

"Oh, my dear, I'm sure he'll be here soon," mother said gently pulling me away from the door. Just as I was about to go inside I heard a horse galloping.

"JOHN!!!!" I cried running towards my boyfriend. John jumped off his horse and kissed me passoinately while swinging me around.

My mother cleared her throat. We both turned to face her and blushed. She gave us a smile and then turned inside. We followed her hand in hand. I was thrilled that John was safe and sound right next to me. For hours we ate and talked. All of my relatives loved John. After awhile it was time for presents. I opened present after present. At last, I opened John's present. John handed me a small box with several holes on the side. I opened the present and gasped. Inside was a little snow white kitten.
