Tina ^
It was Thursday, and we had P.E for first period. Of course, Victor and his best friend, Carson, loved this subject the best. Tina and I hated it so much - well actually, I hated it so much. Tina did like it, but the only reason she wasn't always excited about it was because of our teacher, Mr Garcia. He liked "joking around" with her for fun, but she thought he did it particularly to her because of the colour of her skin. But I don't think it's like that, I think she's just fun to joke around with.
"Gosh, I hope he doesn't joke with me today" Tina started.
"Who, Mr Garcia?"
"Duh, who else would I be talking about?"
"I don't know. His jokes are lame anyway, why do you even care?"
Tina stared at me. "Cass, you know why I care." She thinks it's about her colour... again. I've told her a million times it's got nothing to do with that, but she wouldn't listen to me.
When we entered the hall, Victor was the only one there. Everyone else was still in the changing rooms - even Carson. Tina and I walked over to the stairs and sat down several metres away from him. But of course, he just had to say something.
"Hey, girls. Surprising that you're second to finish changing. Usually you're last." Victor teased. He was waiting for us to say something back.
Tina's face was going red, and she looked angry. I put my hand on her on the shoulder and told her to not to bother. We weren't going to get anything out of talking to him. A few seconds later, students were starting to enter the hall. We didn't spot Carson, though. "Apparently" he was the always the second to finish changing. At least that's what we heard.
Victor brushed his hands through his luscious, dark-brown hair. His bright blue eyes were staring at us, and we were just ignoring him. He was really creeping us out. Finally, Carson came in. He had red short red hair, and emerald eyes.
"Hey, bro! What took you so long?"
"Sorry, dude. I forgot my clothes in my car, so they called my mum to bring 'em." Victor nodded his head once.
Mr Garcia came in, carrying a bunch of equipment - a tower of cones, a bag of balls of different sizes, red and blue headbands and a folded net. The funny part was no one got up to help him.
He dropped everything on the ground, and stomped to the centre of the hall, panting. He looked like someone who had just walked 10 miles in the desert, with only half a bottle of water.
"L-let's just get... right to the point. I'm gonna give you all different coloured headbands, and NO SWAPPING!". Mr Garcia just wasn't in the mood for misbehaviour that day.
When all the headbands were handed out, Tina and I both realised very horrifying things.
"NO, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!" I yelled.
"Yeah, I know! I can't believe we're in different teams!" Tina replied.
"No, not that! I'm in Victor's team!". Mr Garcia always used to let us pick our teams, but he probably picked them himself because he wasn't in the mood for people to be fighting about who goes in what team. I wasn't happy to be with Victor because he gets annoying when there are girls in his team - and that's every time.
"Oh no..." Tina had just realised.
"Yeah, at least you're with Carson! He isn't as bad as him!"
"I mean... you're not exactly with Victor. There are other girls on your side as well."
I just rolled my eyes, and took a deep breath as I got up and walked to our side of the hall (we were on the red team). All the girls on my team were bunched up into a small group. They were all afraid of what Victor was going to say to them. I didn't understand what they were so scared about. He didn't seem all that... tough.
We started the game, and I looked at Tina from the other side of the hall. We'd promised that we wouldn't hit each other. She was pointing at someone, but I couldn't tell who. She mouthed something - it looked she was saying May. Then, she scooted closer to the person she was talking about.
Then I realised... she was pointing at Maddie. Well, she had to be in someone's team, didn't she? I was just happy that she wasn't in my team. Otherwise, I would've had Victor and Maddie on my side.
Mister Garcia blew the whistle, and the game began. Everyone ran to the centre of the hall and snatched a ball from the cones. The balls were flying everywhere! I waited for one to come to me - of course I wasn't going to run to one. People were getting eliminated straight away. Most of the people who got eliminated from Tina's team were because of Victor. After a short while, our team only had 5 people left - Kiki, Reagan, Josh, Victor and I. The blue team had 3 people left - Tina, Carson and Maddie.
Maddie hit Josh, and Carson hit Reagan. Maddie threw the ball at me - and I caught it. Kiki and Victor were staring at me. I took a deep breath and threw the ball with all my might... in my imagination. I was just standing there daydreaming.
Victor snatched the ball from me and hit Maddie as if it was nothing.
It was just Kiki, Tina, Carson, Victor and me. Kiki was behind me, and Victor was spaced out from us.
Tina was about to pick up the ball, when Carson snatched it from her. He aimed it at me and I slid to the side to dodge it. Kiki was out.It was just me and Victor. I had the ball, and tried to hit Carson, but I failed miserably.
"Aim properly, Reynolds" said Victor.
"Oh, shush"
I was looking away, and Carson knew it was the best time to strike. I wasn't looking and he hit me. I was eliminated.
It was just Carson, Tina and Victor left.Tina threw the ball like a kid, and it didn't even get close to Victor. Carson was trying to distance from Tina so that he wouldn't get hit - he knew that Victor was going to try to hit her. But Tina wasn't going to give up that easily. Wherever Carson ran, she'd follow him.
"3 minutes left!" warned Mr Garcia.
Tina had to act fast. She made it as if she wasn't looking and making "signals" to me as if she was trying to tell me something. Carson gestured his eyes to Tina, to tell Victor to hit her. He threw the ball - and Tina dodged it. Luckily, Carson was next to her, and the ball just hit his lower leg by a bit.
"Oh, dude! I'm so sorry!" Victor yelled.
"It's fine, Vic." Carson walked off in glumness. He took a seat next to me.
"It's just you and me, Rogers."
"Bring it on!"
The ball was on Tina's side, so it was her go. She took a few steps back and aimed the ball and Victor. Then she threw it.
The ball nearly hit him, but he ducked. Now Victor had the ball.
"30 seconds, kids!"
He had a ball in his hand, but dropped it. He ran to the basketballs. No one knew what he was doing.
"Uh, Vic? What are you doing?" asked Carson. Mr Garcia was too busy on his phone.
"Let's have some fun" Victor whispered.
He ran to the court, and threw the basketball as hard as he could at Tina. She was too stunned about the ball Victor was using to avoid it. It hit her arm and she fell to the floor.
"Tina! Are you okay?" I ran up to her. Mr Garcia finally got up from his phone and ran to Tina. I stomped up to Victor, where Carson was already consulting with him.
"Are you out of your mind?!" I yelled.
"Hey, it was an accident. I didn't know it was gonna hurt that bad." What an excuse.
"Oh, really? Well guess wha-"
"Cass, just go. I can deal with him." said Carson. I agreed and was about to go back to Tina, but she was gone. I asked Reagan where she was.
"Oh, Mr Garcia took her to the nurse. She's probably gonna go home."
I was heartbroken. There was no way I was going to forgive Victor for that.
