PROLOGUE

robin couldn't stand the members of her best friend's band from the very moment she met them. izzy was okay because he didn't talk much, she could handle steven's tendency to be overbearingly hyper, and she and axl had silently agreed to just hate one another in peace, but slash was a whole different story. he knew he got under her skin and he milked the absolute shit out of it from day one.

she and duff met right before robin dropped out of art school (as a freshman, barely dropping out really) to start culinary school, thinking cooking would still have some level of artistic expression but with a much simpler path to success. at that point, guns n roses was still writing appetite for destruction, but they were well on their way to success. she and duff got along well and she had no problem making him her go to person. their friendship was easy and simplicity made them thrive together.

she lived a very simple life and that was something she was completely okay with. between shifts as a sous-chef at a uppity restaurant in downtown LA, she spent almost all of her spare time at local shows and sweaty clubs (typically stoned out of her mind because that's the only way she would have fun). though a large part of her craved domesticity and passion, she didn't think she had time for that right now, and she had no plan of clearing her schedule in order to settle down.
