That Holiday Feeling

After the next few days had passed, the weekend was gradually making its way into the dawn and you were ready to get out of the cramped town of Kingston and off to Barbados with Tom and his family. You'd heard nothing from Carl, which had been a huge relief with the anxiety resting on your chest like a weight. However, Tom didn't see it the same way. He'd had his eyes peeled for you like a hawk ever since that night, accompanying you to the store, making sure you never slept alone and wouldn't even leave the house without you coming with him or someone staying with you. Admittedly, it was sweet, you knew he was just looking out for you, but sometimes there were boundaries being crossed.

"Tom seriously, I need to go to the bathroom alone at some point, I'm not a baby!" you groaned as once again he had followed you from the bedroom towards the bathroom.

"Y/N there's a perfectly smashable window in there, you don't know what he's capable of!" he gestured at the bathroom window sitting across from the shower.

"Well, what do you suggest? Perv on me while I pee?" You giggled, punching his chest softly, "yeah that's what I thought" you replied as he stood there searching for a suitable answer. "Look I'll scream if something happens, okay?" you suggested putting his mind at rest.

"Fine," he caved, "I'm just trying-"

"-To protect me, I know Tom, and I find it sweet but a girl needs her privacy!" you sighed, throwing a towel over the sink as you walked into the bathroom, "it's just the bathroom, Tom, you're literally right next door. If something happens you'll hear it, but nothing's going to happen."

And that was how it had started. From there on he'd been with you everywhere you went, making sure no one could touch you but him, even his brothers had seen the change. You were hoping that now you were at the airport and ready to be indulged in to a more comforting setting things would be different.

Getting through the airport was a challenge, you knew this from the start. You had to keep your face well hidden when standing beside Tom, the media knew you were his best friend but you also knew they wouldn't think twice about pairing you together for some extra publicity in the papers. So you wandered through the airport as one does with a GQ magazine covering your face, paired hands with Paddy at the back of the Holland family group. You'd been lucky enough to book a private jet to Barbados due to Tom's obvious wealth which you were thankful for. Not only was it exciting but also beneficial to the fact you wouldn't have to sit on a crowded plane.

The plane was rather fancy, white polished leather seats and burned oak wood decor, it was beautiful. There was a large couch situated at the front of the plane just before the pilot's cabin and even a bedroom at the rear. Paddy, of course, headed straight for the window seat, dragging you alongside him while Sam and Tom sat opposite you. Harry was too busy messing with some of his camera gear to be bothered about where he was sitting, so he ended up on the opposing side with Nikki and Dom.

"It's a shame we couldn't bring Tessa, she would have loved this" Dom perked up, making you all nodded in agreement.

"You know she hates planes" Harry reminded Dom, "but she would have liked the beach"

"Don't all dogs like the beach?" You giggled, fastening your seat belt as the plane prepared for take-off.

"You'd be surprised as to how many freak out their first time seeing sand" Paddy jumped in, making Tom chuckle. After the plane had taken off Paddy went off to explore the rest of the plane, Sam joining him after hearing something about cooking books hidden in one of the cupboards, leaving you and Tom alone on the left side of the plane.

"How are you holding up?" Tom perked up, leaning over slightly so he could talk to you in some aid of privacy.

"I'm okay," you nodded, smiling as you turned your head from looking out the window, "why, is something wrong?"
