『Chapter 20』

CHAPTER 20
To the End

Jean came to a gentle stop, the helicopter they had been following was long gone and the sun had already set. The cars that chased them were gone thanks to Franz and Connie.

Eren stepped out of the car with Jean following close behind him. Marco snuck behind them and took his place at the top of containers; he took out his sniper and set it up. Thomas followed Eren and Jean as they quietly walked along the docks.

"Armin, can you locate them?" Jean asked with a hushed tone.

"Yeah, just give me a second to activate my drones." Armin immediately responded and proceeded to type on his computer. He looked at the camera footage on his second computer and saw someone moving behind a container.

"Eren to your right." Armin noted.

The brunet nodded and continued to walk forwards.

"You know Eren... you should've accepted my invitation." A voice echoed through the large area.

"Me wanting to rule over the world. For what?" Eren asked, "like hell I'd do that without a reason."

"I already gave you one, so that your precious Ackerman lives!" A maniacal laugh erupted.

"Jean! Eren! Thomas!! Watch out!!!" Armin yelled.

Gunshots filled their ears as the group dove to nearby containers, immediately firing back at the Impero. "Shit! It's a flash grenade!!" Jean yelled spotting one of the Impero's members throw it towards them.

"Manoeuvre!" Eren ordered.

The three of them separated as Marco assisted from up above with Thomas covering him as best, he could. Jean skidded across the ground whilst firing at two other men, killing them. Eren took cover behind a container with Armin behind him.

"Alright! Drones are up!" Armin said.

Drones then hovered up into the sky and immediately fired at the opposing side.

"Reloading!" Eren cried.

"Same here!" Thomas said.

Armin looked at the camera and spotted Franz and Connie running towards them. Franz took out a flash grenade from his pocket. "It's Franz and Connie! Everyone covers your eyes!!" Armin warned.

Franz threw the flash grenade, and everyone covered their eyes, leaving the Impero blinded by the startling flash if light. Once the light died down Eren opened fire once more.

"Take them down now!" Eren ordered.

"Right!"

Bullets fired and the sound of people screaming in pain echoed. "Thomas watch out!" Eren yelled and quickly pushed the blonde out of the way and towards another container.

"Shit! They've got back up!" Marco warned noticing multiple people coming in.

"Crap..." Eren growled.

Just a little bit longer... Armin thought.

"I'm almost out!" Connie yelled.

Eren clicked his tongue and quickly fired at two men, hitting them both on their chest. "Everyone gets back!" Eren yelled biting off the ring from the grenade and threw it at the opposing side.

As soon as the grenade landed everyone quickly ran and an explosion went off.

Cries were heard as the sound of the explosion died down and smoke and debris engulfed the land. Eren let out heavy breaths as he covered his mouth with his jacket, he surveyed the area although barely able to see anything.

"Do you think that did it?" Jean asked through his earpiece.

Eren slowly stepped out of his hiding place and approached the field that now had a huge crater. He looked around, seeing the dead bodies and blood on the ground. No... something's wrong-!? Suddenly an immense pain shot through his shoulder.

He let out a grunt and stumbled back.

"Shit, Eren!!" Jean cried.

"Get them!"

Armin quickly activated his drones and proceeded to take down as many people as he could, however their offence was driven back and slowly, Armin's drones were shot down.

Slowly their forces were driven back.

Eren was pinned to the ground by two men and the rest of their friends either had a gun pointed to their heads or were held down. Zeke stood at the top of three large containers with Mikasa in front of him, a maniacal smile plastered on his bearded face.

Eren green orbs widened at the sight of Mikasa.

The Ackerman had a black bag over her head and her wrists were tied along with her ankles. He could hear her muffled screams and anger ravaged in his mind and body; the brunette tried so desperately to escape the clutches of the two Impero members.

A low growl escaped his lips.

"I will ask you again, Eren," Zeke said pushing Mikasa closer to the edge, "will you join us?"

Eren swallowed hard his eyes scanned to Jean who was pinned on the ground, he saw Armin with an Impero member pointing a gun to his head. Connie was on the ground, badly injured with Franz behind held down. Marco too was badly beaten with Thomas laying on the ground next to him.

Eren clenched his jaw and looked down at the ground. His clenched fists tightened, drawing blood and his knuckles turned white.

"We don't have all day Eren," Zeke said and held Mikasa, her toes overlapping the edge, "answer me now! Or she will die!!"

Mikasa tried to escape the ropes that held her. Zeke just sneered and leaned towards Mikasa. "I wouldn't struggle so much; lover boy is going to get angry." He whispered.

Lover boy? Huh?? Does he mean Eren? Mikasa thought, finally ceasing her struggle.

"Good girl." Zeke chuckled.

Mikasa so desperately wanted to say something but the cloth over her mouth prevented her from saying anything, all she could manage was a muffled scream or sound.

"So... what is it, Eren?" Zeke asked looking down at Eren, an expression that clearly said that he had won visible. "Have her die... or join us?"

Eren let out heavy breaths and finally a defeated sigh escaped his lips. His green eyes dulled as he raised his head and looked at Zeke.

I have won! Zeke thought with a grin.

Eren looked at Zeke directly in the eyes, suddenly a wide grin formed on his face. "Go fuck yourself!" Eren growled.

Zeke laughed, "you must really not give a damn about her then!!" Zeke yelled pushing Mikasa over the edge.
