The crowd was yelling farewell, men clapping, children waving, and women blowing kisses as the last of luggage was carried onto the ship. A young man waved to the crowd and winked at the beautiful women, you could feel his charm before he even spoke. The young man was obviously the visiting prince from the kingdom near the seaside, visiting the Princess of Glasseral.
The rumors began the night he came here, 3 days ago. That the moment the princess saw him she fell in love, who wouldn’t? Those pale blue eyes that looked like the sky, the raven black hair, the charming smile, his body looked as if sculpted by a god, the slight tan on his skin that was only on the people from his kingdom. Oh yes, Princess May fell hard, but for Prince Eric that was not the case.
Princess May was everything a princess should be, polite, beautiful, and obedient. Sadly, that was all Eric saw, a princess in public and bit spoiled in private, before they even got to know what the other liked to eat it seemed May was already planning out the wedding. If she had relaxed, and they had more time I’m sure they would've been fine together but, with only 3 days to make the Prince want her, a personality that just wouldn't budge, and Eric leaving the princess every time he got to go adventure. The marriage that everyone expected did not happen at all.
That’s not were the rumors ends of course, one night while walking in the gardens Princess May asked Eric where the most sun is in his castle.
“The dinning hall, why are you curious to know?” Eric said still trying to gently loosen the princess’s grip on his arm.
“Well I want to know where would be a nice place for the wedding, surely not here it’s far too cloudy…” she said. “Why have to stopped Prince Eric?”
Eric stood there with a face as pale as the moon. “Wedding? Dear Princess, I have not even asked for your hand.” Getting her hand off him, he backed away from the princess who was getting annoyed.
“You are going to ask me to marry you are you not? I see the way you look at me, of course you are. Everyone loves me, as do you. The only question here is when shall we leave to your kingdom?” She said as if it were as simple as asking what tea would with her lunch, as she twirled a blonde lock of her hair.
“My lady, I do not wish for your hand in marriage.”
“I beg your pardon?” Princess May walked toward Eric, “Everyone wishes for my hand in marriage. I am the Princess of Glasseral, I am the most beautiful women on this side of the ocean and you do not wish for my hand?”
“No, I do not. I do not even know your favorite color, I have not heard you laugh in all 3 days. I simply can not marry you. My apologize my dear. I will leave in the morning and you won’t have to see me again.” Eric said calmly and turned to leave before the princess could tear him apart.
“Doesn’t anyone truly love me?” He heard a whimper, he turned to see her with tears down her face.
“If you are patient, you will find someone who will love you more than you could even imagine.” He said as he went back into the castle.
Princess May watched as the boat sailed away, her prince on board, though she couldn’t exactly say that he was hers. Still angered by last night’s rejection the princess calmly went back into her castle only to break the nearest vase. Prince Eric was meant to marry her, the kingdoms would join and she would have the most highest reign of all her friends. Princess May was so angered that she had left the castle as soon as she entered it, walking to the damp sand of the little beach. For hours she sat there throwing rocks and mumbling incoherent things about the prince. Grabbing a sea form green rock that was as big as an egg she stood up.
“Why isn’t he mine?” she yelled throwing the rock into the ocean. She stood there wiping the tears from her face she began to turn to go back to the castle and ask her father to find a way for him to come back, when suddenly the began to bubble. Princess May stood there watching as a green light began to glow. A rather big bubble came up into the air and floated toward the princess, the green light in the bubble. Now all that could be heard was a chuckle.
“Well well, dear princess seems to be having prince trouble.” The bubble said.
“Who are you? What do you want?”
“Oh, I’m nearly a someone who was just passing by who happens to have similar interests. Say, if I could help you get your prince, would you help me take a kingdom?”
May stared at the bubble, “ You can’t have my kingdom!”
“Not your silly kingdom, a totally random one. What do you say, May? Don’t you want Prince Hunk all to yourself?”
“Who are you?”
The light began to twirl in the bubble moving and changing then suddenly a face appeared. The owner of the voice simply chuckled again,
“Call me Ursula.”
