"We are here." I announced to the parents in the room.
"Great, now sign the contract." My father said, pointing to the blank space.

The contract itself was simple, written in pen on a piece of paper. It was only one page, and had two blank spots for Cecilia and I to sign.

Cecilia had told me about the contract before hand, and had told me it would be best that we change what we can.

"Cecilia and I, would like to review the contract before signing it." I told him.

He looked at me in amusement. "Sure, go ahead." He smirked.

I looked at Cecilia, and she nodded. We've been planning this for quite some time now. The reason to look through the contract was to find out, whether or not Cecilia and I would keep the wedding gift, and our income or would they go to our parents.

"Any wedding money, jewels, and/or luxury goods will be sent to the head of the Rose and Vaji family, any other items can be kept by Castiel Vaji or Cecilia Rose."

"The 10% of the combined income of Castiel Vaji and Cecilia Rose, will be sent to the head of the Rose and Vaji family, on a monthly basis."

At first glance it looks like they were taking the gifts for safe keeping but we knew our parents better than that. We both knew. We both knew that are parents were money hungry, but we couldn't stop ourselves from looking in disbelief. We still had hope they wouldn't add something like this.

"Father, Cecilia and I would like to change two clauses of the contract." I told him.
"Oh? Which ones." He stared me down. It was a signal to back down. He couldn't do much to me in front of Cecilia parents, so he can only do cues, like staring or crossing his legs.
"The ones that mention our wedding gifts, and future income." I stated.
"What do you want to change about it?" Father started to sound more angry. Surprisingly the Rose family aren't saying anything, as if they enjoy the conflict.
"We want to get rid of this part from the contract all together." Cecilia replied. The Rose family stared in shock. It seems that this is battle between who had more obedient children, and both sides were loosing.
"Why do you want to get rid of this part? Are you thinking of not giving back after everything we done for you?" Cecilia mom said nervously.
"We will, but on our own terms." Cecilia replied.
Both parents were going red from frustration.

"Let's agree with Cecilia and Castiel, after all it is their wedding and their life. If problem arises we can revise the contract later." Bella spoke up. She hadn't said much until now. She picked her moments well.
"Alright. We will agree to you're terms." My father said with a furrowed brow. He loved Bella dearly, more than my own mother. He would listen to anything that Bella says. And she knew that, so she tried to help me in any ways she can.

Cecilia parents nodded in agreement. My father sighed, and asked a maid to fetch him new paper. After the maid handed him the paper, he started to write a new contract in front of us.

"The contract is how you want it, now sign it, children." He smiled, it was a cruel smile. He was planning something again

"You will be reflecting on your actions today, Castiel Vaji." He whispered to me when I came over to sign the contract. The phrase sent chills down my spine. I look over to Cecilia for reassurance, but she also looked at me with the same terror in her eyes.

We were on different boats, but we were facing the same ocean.

After signing the contract I walked Cecilia out. As the adults were talking about last minute things, Cecilia and I hugged.

"Remember, let's survive."
"Yes, let's survive."

"We need to talk, Castiel Vaji." My father said after the Rose family left the property.

Talk he says, but its just one sided. Is that even a conversation?

"It seems you grown a bit, since the last time we talked." He sneered. "I should fix that before I lose face, like what happened today."

I followed him in silence. We were going to the room.

We walked down many hallways before we reached the hidden door. Once my father opened the door, we walked down the stairs. If I wasn't careful I could fall down the stairs.

"Do it, you'll take him down with you."

"In." He ordered while pushing me through another door.

I stumbled into the room, it was dark with only a mirror inside.

"Reflect on your actions." My father told me before locking the door.

I stared at the mirror, until I saw my reflection smiled.
