Egocentric (Chapter 1)

Yes, I am basing the chapters off of P5S due to some songs being stuck in my head. Expect some spoilers here and there in these author notes of P5S.

I generally loved Sophia, her mysterious aura in the beginning, her story was well written. And goddamn, by far, more interesting than Sumire/KaSumi (not saying Sumire/KaSumi is bad or anything just my way of thinking). Maybe it's because she reminds me of Aigis/Aegis from P3? Robotic in a way, but gets a heart of her own later down the line when she summoned her true Persona, Pandora. Ahem, off topic. Right. Well here is the next part.

Drip! Drop! Drip!

He slowly opened his eyes, glancing back and forth at the IV cord that was in his arm. An oxygen mask was regulating his breathing, probably that insane woman did this to him. He was thankful...for the time being. "She has certainly put you in a resting state, Young Master." He couldn't agree more. "A door has opened Young Master. There are many others, that are still locked away in your soul...our soul. You can feel them can't you?" He grunted. "The more bonds you grow, more and more of your Personas shall comeback to you. You shall only call for me, and it appears the insane woman is coming."

"Mako-kun! Are you alright?! I was soooooo worried! You blacked out and Sophia was panicking." Tabane Shinono, the 'evil' genius herself, is currently comedically crying.

"That isn't true, Miss Shinono!" Sophia, the AI that was stuck in his IS bracelet, shook her head rapidly. Groaning to himself, summoning a Persona really took a toll on him. The glimpses of past memories flooded his mind, a bridge, the scent of iron/blood and a single word ringed through him. Live.

"Orpheus, the Master of Strings, he does look quite like you Mako-kun. Personas are masks you use to present yourself to society and in front of adversity. Only one Persona can be summoned. However, over 1,000 years or so, only you and 2 others were able to summon multiple. Why is that?" Tabane asked ludicrously. "I looked into the Kirijo database and it seemed whenever they lost you, they found another group of Persona users known as the Investigation Team, led by Yu Narukami. Some years after that, another group of Persona users emerged, known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, led by the ever mysterious Joker."

"Each team had a leader who could wield multiple Personas. So I came to a conclusion that the three of you are considered special somehow." He didn't know why she said those things, but some bells were rung in his head. The names Yu Narukami and Joker made him clutch his head.

"...however, I'll hold off until you regain a few of your memories. We can't have you going out with little to no memories can we?" He grunted in response, his body will need a lot of rest.

1 month later

"Persona!" Orpheus heeded his call again, Tabane was absolutely fascinated every single time, of course she wanted to see more of it, it being his power.

"Hm, hm! Certainly Orpheus's frame looks so much like an IS it could be mistaken for it! Although, why does Orpheus only answer when I know you have other Personas?" He should have known she was going to ask sooner or later, so he'll have to tell her the truth.

"...They don't answer, it's simple as that. Maybe they are locked for a reason? Or is it because I need to gain experience through fighting? Honestly, I may never know how a 'wildcard' works." "It could be a different type of summoning! Since you have connected with the IS Core, you could try letting Sophia call them through it?"

It wasn't a bad idea and he could finally try to man the IS Suit. He summoned his suit that was white with black engravings and a gold orb that was centered at his head.

"Sophia, Insert Persona: Orpheus." "You got it!" His whole suit changed to a slight grey color, a speaker in the middle of his torso and two smaller ones protruding from his shoulders. His weapon changed from a single sword to a metallic harp that was etched on his back. "It seems your theory was correct, Taba-nee."

"My intelligence seems to even scare me from time to time Mako-kun!"

"Sophia, what has changed to my suit statistically?" "Obviously, you look a like Orpheus, his strengths have boosted yours by quite a bit, it also seems you have gained some resistances as well. If I were to say, you could very well be a tough opponent to face in a one on one battle."

"Let's test out some of the abilities shall we?" Grabbing the harp, before slamming it down, a small crater and a few pieces of rubble had been falling. "I wonder if spells work to?" Putting the harp away, he imagined a small ball of fire in his hand before thrusting it forward. It kept going until it hit the wall leaving a charred, smokey smell.

"I think that should be enough for now." Tabane clapped her hands together. She was very eager to close up 'shop' today. Of course, she would record everything that happened in a file no one can see. She wanted to see more of it, but today was enough...for now. She had other exciting things to do, such as developing more IS based upon the frames and possibly the addition of adding speakers to her own IS!

...What? Everyone has to listen to music at some point!

[(Line Break)]

Tabane asked him to meet her at her office, she didn't specify why, maybe she had undergone a personality shift? If she did, thank the gods!

When he entered, he cursed the gods, Tabane was talking to someone on the monitor. "...Mako-kun should be here any minute now Chi-chan! He's been very helpful in my studies of my creation!"

'...Chi-chan?' was the only thought that popped into his head.

"...Nice to meet you, my name is Makoto Y-"
He started to speak until Tabane covered his mouth with her hand. "Ah, ah, ah! Your name is Makoto Shinono!" "...Please no." "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No, I will not."

After a few minutes of bickering, a sweatdropping 'Chi-chan' coughed to get their attention. "It matters not, you are going to enroll him in IS Academy aren't you, Tabane?"

That came to a surprise to him, normally, when one has met the sought after inventor, some go missing or classified as dead. Every nation wants the knowledge that Tabane has.

"Yes, if I send Mako-kun to IS Academy, he can be an ambassador or stand in for me. I have no doubt Mako-kun can handle himself, I assure you, Chifuyu Orimura."

Chifuyu Orimura slightly smiled, it seems Tabane has changed just a little. "Very well, as your headmaster and teacher at IS Academy, I welcome you, Makoto 'Yuki' Shinono."

He bowed in gratefulness as the monitor turns black. "Even if I didn't get a say in it, I would've still gone to the academy because of being an IS Pilot. A male one at that."

"Ah! There is one male student there and he so happens to be Chi-chan's younger Otouto!" Tabane smiled before Makoto grabbed her cheeks and stretched them playfully.

"Ow!"

Well that does it for this chapter. And yes, Makoto will go as Tabane's 'stand in' since he was taught almost everything about IS's.

Sophia didn't have much spotlight this time, but she will next chapter! Hilarity will ensue!
