Second part! :)
My mom heads to the kitchen as Harry kneels down to Alice's height. "Would you like to help me set the table?" He asks the little girl. She beams a happy smile at him and nods. "I need to ask my mommy first," She says before running up the stairs to her mother. I walk over to Harry and hug him, "I love you" I mumble against his chest.
He sniffles a bit harshly, "I love you too baby" he says before quickly pulling away. I watch as he turns away from me to sneeze, "Hmph-SCHIEW!" "Bless you baby." He rubs his nose with the back of his fist and sniffles wetly, "Thanks," he says. Suddenly Alice runs into the kitchen and grabs Harry's hand, "Come on, we gotta set the table for grandma" she says before "pulling" him away.I chuckle at his facial expression as he follows her into the dining room.
I walk into the living room, I look at the empty tree before sitting next to my dad on the sofa. I lean against the arm of the sofa and rest my legs on his lap. "How are you doing sweetie? Does Harry treat you well?" I smile at the thought of Harry, "I'm doing really good. Harry treats me so well, I never imagined meeting somebody like him. He makes me so happy." I say honestly, me and my dad always had a very close relationship, he always gives me the best advice.
"I'm glad he's treating you well, he seems like a good lad." I smile at him, "He is a good guy. And how are you, dad?" He smiles at me, "I'm doing good, keeping your mother in line." He says, chuckling. I laugh, "just like you've always done," we continue to laugh until my mother walks in. "Why are you two laughing" she says with her hands on her hips, an amused smile on her face. "No reason honey." My dad says, giving her an innocent smile.
She looks at both of us skeptically, "Well, come on, dinner is ready and the table is set." she says before walking out and calling for my brother. Me and my dad chuckle at each other one more time before I stand up and make my way to the dining room. I see Harry sitting down next to Alice, she says something that makes Harry chuckle.
I make my way towards Harry and kiss his cheek before taking a seat next to him. Harry looks at me, I notice his eyes and nose are a bit red, before I can say anything Clarissa walks in and smiles at me and Harry as she picks Alice up, "Sorry to take her away but we gotta clean her up for dinner." I smile back at her, "No, you're good, go clean her up" I say.
She walks out of the room and I turn to face Harry who is rubbing his nose and sniffling. "You okay baby?" He opens his mouth to answer but quickly turns away from me, "Ah-ITSCHOO!....Heh-RRSHEW!" I rub his back, "Bless you." I murmur, "Ugh thanks, yeah i'm okay. Something's bothering my nose, probably some dust, but I'm good" As if to justify what he said he rubs at his eyes and scrubs at his nose.
I give him a sympathetic smile, "Okay then. You'll be okay though?" He smiles at me and places a kiss on my forehead, "Yes, baby. I'll be okay. You don't need to worry" "Okay" I say and lean in to kiss him. He kisses me back before we're interrupted by Alice's small voice. "Oooh they're kissing" We both pull away and I look at the doorway and see everyone looking at us.
I groan and hide my blushing face in Harry's chest. I feel the vibration of Harry chuckling as he rubs my back. "Okay okay, lovebirds we're gonna start to eat, if that's okay with you guys." my mother says. I lift my head and nod at my mother, "yeah we can do that." Everyone sits down, my brother looks at me and pretends to gag. I stick my tongue out at him like a little kid.
My mom claps her hands together before speaking, "Okay, before we serve ourselves, we are going to say what we are thankful for. Well, I'll go first, I am thankful for my husband, who has been there with me through thick and thin. I'm also thankful for my children and my granddaughter. I am grateful that you both have found the person that makes you the happiest." I smile at my mom and squeeze Harry's hand.
My dad, Clarissa, and my brother go next. It is now my turn, "Uhm, well i'm thankful for this chance to spend time with the people I love. I am so thankful for the stable job that I have. I am thankful for this delicious food that my beautiful mother has prepared. And I am especially thankful for Harry," I turn my head to look at him. "Who treats me so so well and has loved me no matter what" I say, getting a bit teary eyed at the end. He smiles before pulling me into a small hug.
He presses a quick kiss on my temple, "I am thankful for this opportunity to finally be able to meet all of you guys. I am thankful for my family and all of this delicious food we are going to have. I am also very thankful for meeting this wonderful woman who has stuck with me through all of my struggles." He makes eye contact with me, "I love you" he says in a whisper. I feel myself blush, "I love you too."
My mom smiles at our little interaction, she looks at Alice, "And what are you thankful for sweetie?" She asks the 2 year old, she thinks for a second, "I am thankful for my mommy and daddy and gwandma and gwandpa and auntie Haywey and uncle hawwy." She takes a deep breath, "And I am very thankful for FOOD" She says, making us all chuckle. "Okay let's eat." my brother says and starts serving himself.
We all start eating and talk about random things. Twice, Harry turned, when the attention was on somebody else, to stifle a sneeze. "H-gxt!" After the second sneeze, I reach over to squeeze his hand, "You okay?" I whisper to him, he squeezes my hand and gives me a small smile, "I'm fine, don't worry so much" he says. As the time went by I could tell Harry's eyes were getting more irritated because he kept rubbing them, harshly, every so often.
After we were done, we cleaned off the table and made our way to the living room. My dad spoke first, "Alright, time to decorate the christmas tree." Each couple got a box of decorations, I bring mine and Harry's to the sofa and start sorting through it. Harry was helping but every so often he would stop to harshly rub his nose or stifle a harsh sneeze.
After a few minutes of watching him struggle I stop what I was doing and walk over to him, "Come on" I say and lead him to the bathroom. Once the door is shut he finally lets loose, "Huh-RRSHO!..huh-CHEW!..AEH-schew!...HUH-tschh! UH-EH-schhtiiw!" When he finally stops I wad up some toilet paper and hand it to him. He gives a long gurgly blow, he throws it away and scrubs at his extremely red nose.
He sighs and looks at me through bloodshot eyes, "What's causing this baby?" I ask, extremely worried. He shrugs, "I don't know, something is making my allergies flare up. I just don't know what." He says frustratedly, I watch as he wads up more toilet paper, his breath hitching, "Eh..huh..HR-RRSHOO! Hrr-TCHEW!" "Bless you" I sympathetically say as he blows his nose again.
"I mean it could be dust, but i've seen you around dust and it's normally only a few sneezes" He shrugs, "It could be, but regardless of what it is, I didn't bring any allergy medicine with me" He says defeatedly and pinch rubs his nose. "Give me a second" I say and open the cabinets, looking for allegra or Claritin.
I only managed to find some benadryl, "Okay, I've got some benadryl. Will you take it?" He shakes his head, "No, it doesn't really work for me. It's just gonna make me sleepy." I sigh, "Okay, well, you think you'll be okay for another 30 minutes or so?" He rubs his eyes, "Yeah, I'll be good." I give him a small, comforting hug and then we both make our way back to the living room.
We begin to join my family and start hanging ornaments on the tree. I keep a close eye on Harry, I watch as he makes his way towards the tree before stopping. He pinches his nose and rubs it harshly trying to get rid of the itch. He quickly puts the ornament on the tree and makes his way back towards me. Before I can say anything he makes his way towards the bathroom.
Working on the next part soon! xx
