Me and Harry sit down on the love seat, as I make my way to sit down next to him he pulls me to sit on his lap. I giggle quietly, he wraps his arms around my waist and places a soft kiss on my shoulder before resting his chin on my shoulder. My mom stands up and plugs in the tree, Alice gasps, "It's so pwetty" she says in awe.
Harry takes his chin off of my shoulder and leans his head up to whisper in my ear, "I love you" I turn my head slightly, just to look at him, I smile at him, "I love you too" I whisper back. He rubs his nose on my back before placing his chin back on my shoulder. He sniffles softly. I hear his breath start to hitch, he stifles two harsh sneezes, "Gxt! h-GXT!" I rub the inside of his hand, "Bless you" I murmur quietly. He hums in response.
We all sit and watch as Alice stands up and walks over to the lit up tree. "Daddy, can we take it home with us?" she asks her father with pleading eyes. We all chuckle at her cuteness, "No, baby. It has to stay here with grandma and grandpa" She pouts even more, "But, grandma and gwandpa don't need it." My mom dramatically gasps, "And why don't we need it missy?" She asks Alice. The 2 year old thinks for a little bit before shrugging her shoulders, "I don't know." We all erupt into laughter.
I speak up, "Well, Alice. You can't take this one because you have to decorate one at home with mommy and daddy." She looks up at me, "Do you and Hawwy have one at home too?" She asks. "Not yet, but we're going to have one," Harry tells her. She walks over to us, "You talk funny" she tells Harry. All of us laugh as Harry opens his mouth in shock, "Do I now?" She smiles at him and nods. "Yeah, you do"
He smiles back at her. "That's because I'm not from here," he says. Her face shows curiosity, "Where are you from?" she asks. "I'm from a place called England, do you know where that is?" she shakes her head, "Well, it's a place that's on the other side of the ocean." She looks at him intently as he speaks, "So, in England we talk with accents, but you know what's cool." "What!" She says enthusiastically, "To me," he gestures to himself, "You talk funny as well"
This makes her laugh. "Really?" He nods his head, smiling at her. Alice turns to face her father, "Daddy can we go to England." she asks him quickly and runs over to him. He picks her up and sets her on his lap, "Some day, baby, we'll go to England" She claps her hands together, "Yay!" I look at the time on my watch, 8:22, I can tell Harry is a bit exhausted due to his allergies acting up, so I stand up, Harry following.
"Okay, we're gonna head to bed, we had a long drive." I say. Chris and Clarissa stand up as well with a sleepy Alice in their arms, "Yeah us too, it's past her bedtime." I walk over to my parents and kiss them both goodnight. I place a kiss on Alice's forehead before leading Harry to our room. I turn on the light and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take off my makeup.
Harry stays in the room to change, every once in a while i'd hear him sneeze, "huh-CHEW!" "Heh-RRSHEW!" He comes into the bathroom as I brush my teeth. I notice his eyes aren't as red as they were before and his nose was looking less swollen. We make eye contact through the mirror, he gives me a small smile before making a funny face, almost making me spit out toothpaste.
I shove him before rinsing out my mouth, I go to the room and change into some shorts and the shirt Harry was wearing. I grab a book and sit on the bed, my back against the headboard. Harry comes out of the bathroom a few minutes later and gets under the covers. He lays down so that he's facing me, I stop reading for a while and look at him. He gives me a lazy smile as I reach out and run my hands through his hair, "How are you feeling baby" I say, softly.
He shrugs, "Less itchy, the medicine is slowly kicking in." Before I can say anything, he sneezes, "AEH-schew! UH-EH-schhtiiw!" He quietly groans, "Bless you" I say with a soft smile. "Thank you." I sigh and look at him with worry on my face, "Do you have any idea what could be causing this." "Uhm, I think it might be the tree."
"Oh, damn,... well do you want to leave tomorrow and not stay for the weekend then." He quickly shakes his head, "No, I want to stay here and spend time with you and your family." I sigh, "Are you sure?, cause they'll totally understand. I-I just don't want you to feel miserable."
He takes his hand out from under the blanket and squeezes mine in reassurance, "Baby, I'll be fine, I can stuff myself with meds. But I wanna stay" I nod, "Okay then" I say and lean in to leave a gentle kiss on his forehead. I see his eyes start to droop, "Get some sleep baby" I say smiling at him. I go back to reading my book and soon I hear Harry's slightly congested snores.
