In the endless darkness, a man was struggling to escape from his shackles, he was stuck in a rusted metal beam at the center of the room. His head was completely covered by his black beanie that was pulled down to his neck.
He shook his body forcefully to each side in an alternating manner, hoping he could get a window to break free from his misery, from his cuffs that carved circles of cuts and marks at his wrists..
With his bleeding swollen lips and faint breath, he speaks with great desperation, "I need to get out of this f****** chains. Damn it..."
Each attempt by him was making the atmosphere more intense, making him more paranoid. He scratched the metal shackles against the beam. The screeching sound was bouncing at the walls of the abyss and pieces of rusted iron was raining down on his wounded wrists - a mark of a desperate fight for freedom after being locked up for days under the cold unknown place.
He stopped at scratching down the shackles' chain when he felt that some particles of the rust landed at his bloodied open cut, giving a spike of both irritation and a feeling of something was slicing through his flesh. The rust was mixing slowly with blood, creating streaks of orange and black across the spectrums of red.
He groaned in great pain and anger. His eyes were depressed, trying to make a glimpse of the surroundings between the strands of his beanie, in spite of the fact that he can't see anything but black and darkness alone.
For thirty dreadful minutes, the noise that ruled the entire space was the sound of the dancing chains, dragged and pulled at every possible angle, a tone of great eagerness to break free from his miserable state.
While he was busy to break loose, the old dusty lightbulb overhead of him lit up and gave a poor light under him. The moment he heard an electrical surge coming from above and only the small portion of his spot was lighted up faintly, he stopped, a voice echoed across the room. "What a lovely view I have from you. A struggling worm trying to escape."
With his remaining strength, he yelled long and firm in great anger while looking around through the gap of his beanie. "Shut the f*** up! Get your coward a** over here and face me like a man!"
The voice maliciously laughed at him. The person that was shrouded in the shadows walked around, each step was constantly solid and the helpless person that was tied at the beam was getting more mad.
"Ooh. The 'prey' is the one who is more brave than the 'predator'. What a stupid guy. You think you can do any better if 'I' will face your disgusting face?"
"F*--** You!" he said, as loud as his voice can go, pertaining the hatred to the one he didn't see.
The voice mocked a cough. "Excuse me? What did you say? F*** who? Me?" then it laughed more.
"I said, F***. You!"
Instantly, a punch from his right side landed hard at his face, snapping his head fast to the left and merely passing out because of the impact.
The man was silenced at the force of the punch he had taken. Because of it, blood and some of his removed teeth was pooling at his mouth.
"So.... how about now? Can you still say those words again, huh?" it said.
The guy remained silent. Then it walked back at the shadows and grabbed some papers that was resting on a greased metal table.
While holding a bunch of paper, the person read the content of it in front of the cuffed guy. "Hm... A saviour of the city...." then the person practically dropped the paper while walking around.
