TW: Fire David Pov:
I skip into the store and start looking for bandages and some other stuff the camp may need. That's when I feel like there's an ominous presence watching me. I feel uncomfortable, I grab the supplies I need in a slight hurry and head over to pay for it. "That'll be 53$."
"Ah well, here you go." I hand over the money to the cashier and make my way out of the store, still in a slight hurry. I look around me since the parking lot is quite vast. Nothing but cares were lined, I sigh in relief of the result. Then I walk over to the car, much calmer now. Getting in I start it up and hit the rode. I click back on the best astrology station in existence! On the way back I can't help but notice the wonderful change of tone in the sky. Everything was sunny, gorgeous and bright! I truly do not understand how people like Max don't love this! A squirrel is in the middle of the road so I attempt to quickly stop to let it cross. Unfortunately the car starts swerving and spinning down the street until before I know it, my vision darkens.
I try to hold on for as long as possible but the world only gets more dizzy. A hear a loud boom! One of the tires popped! I cover my ears immediately which was a mistake because I couldn't control the drivers wheel anymore. I think I might just die but then, right at the ledge of the road, the car stops since so much gas was used and this is an old car. Or so I thought that could've been the reason. Before I can comprehend all of this, the car bursts into flames and I starting choking on smoke.
My skin starts catching fire, I was still buckled and if I touch it I would catch 2nd degree burns instantly on my hands but there was no other way. I choke down a scream of agony as the metal clip accidentally slides down my arm. The car is covered in flames and I'd have to go through literal flames to escape. Again I have no choice so with my already burnt hands I throw open the door and try to slide out as fast as possible. The ends of my clothing caught flame and I through myself to the grass off the road in hopes of taking the fire out.
Big mistake, the grass was very dry. The grass caught flame and spread the start of what seemed like a wildfire. My back is scorched in who knows what type of burns at this point. The shirt was full on burnt by this point and it was an hour walk from camp. My shorts were tattered heavily but luckily managed to stay on. Everything feels so hopeless. I look behind me and to my glee, I see a car slowing down in my direction. "Excuse me! Please help me!" I yell as loudly as possible.
