{Phoenix Pov}
"What the hell is wrong with you this time?! This is like the hundredth time I gotta pull you out of trouble because you keep causing a damn commotion over the most stupidest shit ever" My mother rambles on while pacing around my bedroom.
I stood outside my bedroom patio, looking down at the infirmary place located on the opposite side of my castle bedroom, where I know my mother placed the one person I was always getting in trouble for recently.
My jaw clenched and my fists gripped the vinyl railing on top of the patio that kept me from jumping over it just to run over to the infirmary room to take the woman that belongs to me.
I don't know why my mother keeps wanting her to be beside that fucking guard dog 24/7, when the person she should be beside at all times is me.
Although Jezzabelle knows how much I want her, I knew deep down inside she was trying to hide the fact that she was always overthinking our relationship. Of course I want nothing more than to have her beside me for all eternity but she was only thinking about what others would think of a vampire prince being with his human slave.
I knew she was bothered by it since the day I cornered her in her bedroom bathroom after she ran into Rebecca. I've told her many times before that I didn't care about what other people thought of us but of course being the selfless person she always is, she put my reputation first over our secret relationship.
"Why have you been so angry lately?! Tell me goddamn it!" My mother shouts from behind me making me turn quickly around with a grunt.
"You wanna know what's wrong with me mother?! How about noticing that your one and only son that you've been desperately trying to sell out to the highest bidding princess, is sick and tired of having to choose his future bride when she isn't even a vampire or a princess to begin with?! You're to busy trying to hook up your little guard dog with my maid that you don't even notice that she's the only woman I've wanted since the day I bought her!" I angrily spewed out making my mothers eyes widen in shock at my words.
"Your attracted t-" before she could finish her questioning words I cut her off quickly.
"I am in love with that human, mother. I don't care about the damn law that says vampires aren't allowed to be wed to a human. I'll marry that woman if it's the last thing I do" I reply while trying to ignore the tears coming out of my eyes as I spoke.
"Phoenix wait!" My mother shouts as I rushed out of my bedroom using my vampire speed.
I needed to get away from the shocked and disappointing look that my own mother was giving me after I spilled out my true feelings I've been dying to release since I met my beautiful human slave.
In a matter of seconds, I found myself standing outside the infirmary room watching Jezzabelle's small body frame standing beside Johns unconscious body laying in the infirmary bed.
She was still wearing the same beautiful black gown she walked into the ball earlier with, which made everyone's eyes turn in shock except for me. Of course all the uppity royalty people at the ball disliked the color of the gown Jezzabelle was wearing, but for me it made her look more beautiful than ever. For once since she came into my castle, she was walking into a room with so much confidence that I knew she felt when she decided to pick the color nobody in the whole kingdom would've thought would be appropriate to wear at a royal ball.
"Phoenix, what are you doing here?" Her lovely soft voice asks pulling me out of my thoughts.
"I love you" I say pulling her into my arms as her small body froze in an instant.
