Not a chapter more so a belated birthday scene in celebration of Nurren's birthday. Thought something wholesome needed to be made. Please forgive my tardiness.

.......…......................................

"Wake up Nurren."

"Nurren."

"Nurren wake up."

Finally awake a tiny Nurren groans slowly adjusting to the light she sees a glowing figure. His mana being different for some reason. "What are you?" She drowsily spoke up.

"I- What are you talking about?"

"Who are you talking to?" The serene voice pondered.

"To you."

"Who is he? The one with you ............. He feels angry and sad ....... His mana ..... It's radiating from the body," She points towards him despite her eyes being shut. The female could easily sense mana whether from nature or humans. An ability due to her affinity.
"Y-You .... Do you want to speak with him?" The friend asks.

"Your choice," shrugging the female gives a sleepy smile. "Could you tell me why we can't meet often? Is he why you don't want me around anymore?"

"I didn't mean t-"

"Then let's make a promise," pinky finger out towards him. "When I come back we'll help each other."
"Promise," he links pinky fingers with her. "Make sure to stay by my side."
"Don't push me away William."

Nodding the young pair laugh as he pulls her up on her feet then pulls the female in a hug. "Thank you."
"Mhm. Oh and make sure to send me a bunch of letters! So I won't be lonely," She says letting go of him instead chooses to hold his hand.
"Won't Myrna be training with you?"  William asks.
"She'll return home before me and once I leave the Witches Forest I'll be sent somewhere else I don't know how long mother plans to delay my return to you," She sighs holding his hand firmly.

...........................

"You're sick," Nurren frowns as William stayed in a feverish dream. To ill to leave his bedroom the so called 'family'  hardly visited him. They attempted to keep everyone out, but Nurren managed to sneak in all because she worried over his state knowing them to be amused by the lack of happiness.
"Nurren," he mumbles moving slightly to the left.
"Stay still William and rest. I'll be here for you and once you wake up we can see the stars together," Nurren smiles resting her cold hand against his forehead.

..........................

"Nurren?"

"William you're awake!" Nurren beams in his arms. Somehow William had fallen asleep on the floor clinging on to her. He must've unconsciously reached out to her. "Are you feeling better?"
"Ye-Yeah," William stuttered heat rising to his face to how close they were to each other. "How are you here?"

"Snuck in," Nurren chirps with a bright smile towards him.
"Won't your mom be worried?" He questioned immediately regretting it as her eyes begin to fog up and smile fades into a blank expression.
"No she cares more about the others besides one of my sisters made a deal with me," She sighs resting her head on the crook of his shoulder. "I wanted to visit you one last time before leaving."
"Are you .... Is it .... Today?" He trembled placing his hands on her shoulders.

Not meeting his gaze she nods then looks up at him both teary eyed. "I'm going to miss you Nurren," William frown holding back his tears.
"Don't forget to write lots of letters," she huffs crossing her arms as a tear betrays the child's face. Instinctively wiping her tear away he places a soft kiss on top of the female's head.
"When you come back can we stay like this?" he ponders.
