Chapter 32- Idolatry Part 2

"This walk is to long," Amyas huffs.
"I'm tired," Amias complains.
"My feet hurt."
"I'm so cold."
"Can you carry me?"
"Why are you carrying mom?"
"Where are we going?"

Sneezing the twins shake in the icy conditions they're not quite accustomed to seeing as they were raised in a tropical land. "YOU Brats!"Yami shouts at his god children while Zephyren floats above a lantern that gracefully begins to melt away just as she reaches the icy ground. Amias hides behind Amyas who takes a step back as Dahliana typically the most cheerful of all Corahveana's glares them down.
"Nurren," Dahliana runs towards the trio quickly freeing them as the squad captains Fuegoleon and Nozel speak with the Devil Believers. "She's running a fever."

"We'll escort her back to the Hospital," Zephyren states as she lifts Nurren up in her arms. William ready to assist comes to a halt as Dahliana stands in his way. "Open a portal for us Portaport." Doing as ordered he hesitantly does so.
"My apologies, but you should speak with your civilians," Completely ignoring him Amias and Amyas look over to Zephyren in confusion as she walks in.

Removing his mask William reveals the cursed scarred markings. The civilians gasps at their beloved Captain's appearance. Amias and Amyas noted it to be a curse. At least that's what they've been told. Looking at the maskless captain they could tell that their genes where in fact passed on from the eye color to mixture of skin tone and hair.

"I am the same as you," He looks down," I have faced discrimination because of this face .... But the current Wizard King, Julius Novachrono, did not care how I looked and took me in. He accepted me as who I was. He gave me a place to belong. Lord Julius saved me. And now, it's our turn. We will create a place for you to stay. A place where the sun shines. So please, once .... Just once .... I ask that you believe in us."

Moved by his speech a majority of the rogue villagers begin to turn back and return home.

"Now, then. Dazu Tayak, Bow Nocde, and other leaders of the Devil Banishers."
"You are a separate matter. You kidnapped two girls and a patient," Fuegoleon states.
"Instigated a riot in the Royal capital."
"And Kabe Carillon, Onoby Sinho, and Siona Caverly of the Magic Parliament. You are suspected of killing those three."

Damnatio steps with his scales and grimoire. "Well you heard him," Yami looks over to him.
"You must be judged. You have committed several crimes," Damnatio averred their sins.
"If we're just going to get arrested and be punished.... ," Dazu reaches for her bag pulling out a potion. "Then I'll blow you all away!"

Yami grips her wrist. "Don't waste your time." Letting go of her he olds the potion in his other hand as she falls.
"But we've come so far," Dazu faces away with her eyes shut.
"Dazu," Bow places a hand on her shoulder.

"Who said anything about arresting you?" Damnatio questions."Arrest you and punish you? How naive." The scales begin to tilt. "I told you. I'm going to judge you. Therefore, you are hereby .... Exiled from this kingdom."

Everyone gasps in shock except for the Corahveana family. One in particular sister angry at such a lenient declaration. Portaport opens a portal for Damnatio. "Leave the Clover Kingdom immediately."
"We will decide .... Where we will go. No one can decide our path for us."

Glaring at him Damnatio shuts his eyes. "Do as you please."
"Does that mean .....," Asta trails off. The portal disperses as the remnants of Devil Believers nod at one another walking away. Dazu returns Asta's grimoire. He runs after her.

"H-Hey ... I'm going to be the Wizard King someday. And as the Wizard King, I want to create a free kingdom where everyone can understand each other and launch together. I promise you, so please ... No matter where you go, even if it's from afar, please keep an eye on us."

"I wish .... I could've been like you."

"I'm sorry. Please tell that little girl, Marie, as well." One of the masked people requests to Secre. "And that the mother .... Nurren ... I hope she wakes up soon."

"We have no grimoire. No hostages. We are the only ones left. The chances of us going through the strong magic region and making it to the Space Kingdom are .... But even so, I'm ...." Taking Dazu's hand they reassure her.

"We will go. We will leave the Clover Kingdom. But ... If this kingdom is unable to change .... "
"Someone else will take our place."
"They'll appear from the shadows, over and over."
Removing their mask they stand it in the snow by the 'horns' as Dazu and Bow hold hands they all turn their backs uncertain of their fates.

"Bow."
"Dazu."

Sighing Dahliana holds Zephyren back. Amias and Amyas both ignore their angry aunt to look at William. Smiling at them he motions them to approach. Amyas nearly steps forward as Amias stands in front of him. Glaring at him William smile is no more. Amias has always been protective while Amyas was often reckless and yet at this moment felt scared.

"Don't ," Zephyren snaps out of it seeing the twins hesitate to approach their biological father.
"Aunty .....," Amias speaks up for Amyas who's shaking and in tears. "Did mom really never speak about us? Why does no one know .... That Nurren's our mother?"
".... We'll speak somewhere else. Everyone will become ill if not ," Dahliana shivers hugging her arms together as Amyas sneezes.

Taken to their estate Dahliana's called to Azure Deer's headquarters. "I-I'm sorry I must go .... Zephyren.... Please do not harm anyone and do not destroy anything," Liana begs before giving her nephews a quick hug then leaving with a concerned look over to William. "Please behave for the sake of Nurren and the twins. That goes both ways, William ..... Don't hurt my family."

"....."

Now all warm up in a cozy blanket the twins stare blankly at William whilst Zephyren glares him down and tapping her heel against the floor. "You can leave if you want aunty," Amias answers as he gives Amyas hot chocolate. "I can take care of it from here. If he does anything ....," He reaches his hand out," I can just absorb it."
"I just don't want either of you to get hurt again because I wasn't around."

"We'll be fine really," Amias huffs.
"I-I'll just be in the next room if you need me. If anything happens let me know I mean it," Zephyren gives up walking out and slams the door behind her. Silent a bit longer Amias nods over to Amyas stays in the warmth of a freshly draped blanket and sneezes again, but smiles. Amyas being the one more likely to be sick of all his family members.

"I ...."

"Amyas will judge you and I will question you," Amias spoke up cutting their DNA extractor off. "He will decide what we'll do with you." Amias looks away to Amyas who nods in cacoon of a blanket. "The interrogation begins now."

Amyas eyes begin to glow flickers of orange.
"When did mom tell you about us?"

".... I discovered it on my own the day of her absence."
"Were you responsible for her disappearance?"
"My friend and I who shared this body both played a part in it."
