Question:
Theory: easy! Mcsm is set in survival, just looking at the game itself!
What Izzy says:
What game mode is mcsm really set in? Let's take all the game modes that Minecraft has and see what game mode is set in.
There are currently 6 modes in Minecraft, Creative, Survival, Hardcore, Classic, Adventure, and Spectator.
Right off the bat, Creative Mode is crossed out simply because the players don't have unlimited uses of objects, nor can they fight and mobs actually do attack them.
So is Classic Mode. Classic Mode is the mode that unlocks old versions of Minecraft. Obviously, this is kicked out of the picture because biomes don't exist in Classic Mode and plus, it has an entirely different texture pack.
Spectator Mode is crossed out of the picture as well because well, none of the characters could walk through the walls
Adventure mode is knocked out because the player could mine blocks without any inference unless they're in the Sunshine Institute.
This leads to two modes left, Survival and Hardcore
Mcsm is likely to be set in survival but there's one problem, when a character dies, everyone acts like that character is gone forever. Why would that be if they would be respawned? Sure, it's safe to say that they did respawn but it was really far from where they were now. I don't think it's likely because how Jesse and Petra/Lukas acted when Lukas/Petra and Ivor "fell" and "died" in epi. 8. Not to mention, them not knowing that the respawning rules.
So this does means Survival Mode is crossed off? Not entirely.. now let's take a look on the last mode, Hardcore Mode.
Hardcore Mode is similar to Survival Mode but it's set permanently on hard difficulty unlike Survival that has more then one difficulties, Peaceful, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Not to mention, when a player dies, they won't respawn back to the map they was originally in.
Is mcsm set on hardcore mode? There's a low and high chance.. let's take a look..
Damage:
Jesse fights many mobs in mcsm. Let's take a zombie for example does 2 hearts of damage per each attack. however, in hard mode, zombies does exactly four hearts of damage. Zombies, compared in Survival Mode, Normal difficulty, they do 2-3 hearts of damage per hit.
Now let's move onto the respawning rule.. now as I said earlier, when a character dies in mcsm, they are gone forever. This is a clue here because in hardcore mode, when a player dies, they respawn in an entirely new map. Maybe that's what happens when a character dies in mcsm?
They don't become an Angel and fly off into the heavens, they go into an entirely new map, different from the one they was originally were.
Let's just say that the one world Jesse's in is one universe and when someone dies there, they disappears from that one universe and respawn in a different universe?
We're getting deeper here.. even if that's how a character dies, the question still reminds, "What Mode is Mcsm Set On?"
I don't think there's an exact answer to that but I think I got it. Maybe mcsm is actually set in a mode that's not exactly in Minecraft? A mode that's like survival and hardcore mode put together, a mode where the characters have things in Survival normal mode such as the damage, the hearts of damage and more? However it contains things in Hardcore such as how a character die, and more darker things coming from there?
Maybe there's more to the picture and remember, just because it's a theory, doesn't mean it could be counted as truth
But what do you guys think? Write them down in the comments below
