Irene walked away from the canteen, her eyes not even once glancing towards the group of six. Her eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, so it didn't matter if she didn't turn to look at them. She knew what she was doing. Always.Sem break. 2 weeks time.
2 weeks to train the new recruits and let them fully experience an agent's routine.
Other than Moon Byul, Irene was not 100% confident in the others' capabilities. Yes, they are all skillful in their own way, and each of those skills matter to her.
However, in terms of survival and speed, only Moon Byul has the full potential, as for now. After months of observing the girl in juvie, Irene knew more than enough. Besides, Moon Byul's past enough was already sufficient for Irene to believe that she could survive the training- perhaps, survive even more than that.
Agent life is nowhere close to a student's life. Imagine being both.
Irene lets out a soft sigh as she headed straight to the academic building, nodding to any person who bowed as they passed her. Her face was still straight as always.
Sometimes, even Irene forgets who she is. She has been acting cold for so long, it actually consumed her real personality too- some times.
"This time, you will be working with people that are around your age, Eagle."
"But sir, I'm perfectly qualified for the elite class-"
"And that's exactly why you are going to lead and train the new recruits."
"Lead...?"
"Yes, Irene. You still have a long way to go. With your skills, we believe more kids can learn how to be like you too. Isn't that what you wanted in the first place?"
Irene could still remember how hesitant she was, back then. Not only was she going to be a leader, she was also going to be a student. For years, she has been receiving education from inside the organisation, but never in normal school grounds.
For Irene to reach this level of power at school - without any help from the organisation - it certainly meant a lot to her.
Though she had to withstand the rumors about how she got the position, and even though she knew people were going to mock her behind her back, she had to be who she was ordered to be. And even when she was dying to kick Taehyung's ass and fight him from the start, she knew it was her duty to never ruin the plan.
She has always followed orders from her higher ups.
Always.
"President?"
Irene paused a few steps before the SRC room and turned back to see who called her.
"Ah, Baekhyun."
The boy with tiny eyes came up to her with a huge grin, rubbing his hands together in nervousness. The boy was also wearing a blazer like hers, but with a different title on his name tag. Irene squinted her eyes to the see him acting that way, for she knew him too well.
"I just wanted to ask if the boys could-"
"No. I said no last time too, didn't I?"
"But pres!"
"Byun Baekhyun, don't make me regret having you as the dorm president. I've regretted it enough for this semester."
The boy curved his lips into a flat line, before drastically changing it to a pout. "C'MON PRES! JUST ONE NIGHT! ONE FREAKING NIGHT!!!"
