"For the meantime, he will be in our custody. We need him in order to get more information."Irene kept quiet for a while, before looking back at her superior.
"About... the Black Cage?"
The familiar man didn't instantly responded, but soon, he nodded.
The girl's pupils shook a bit, obviously bothered but unwilling to be shaken.
"Understood, sir. Do I have to brief my team about this?"
"No."
His quick answer made Irene's brows furrow.
He understood the look on her face, and just shot her a thin smile. "It's too early for them. They barely survived his... experiment. For now, I want you and the gatekeeper to fully focus on the team's development. In both skills, trust, and chemistry. Train them to survive, not to fight- remember that."
"Fully understood, sir. So, I believe there are no plans to put them on missions straight away, sir?"
He pursed his lips as he looked away from her and out his office window. "Not at the moment. But don't put your guard down. If anything happens, report it to me immediately. I will be sending more gatekeepers to Soar High, to ensure the new recruits' safety, and yours. This way, you all can also focus on your academics too."
Irene nodded again, agreeing with him. "Yes, sir."
"I want you to make sure those new recruits don't leak anything. I'll monitor the team from time to time... but make sure they stay as lowkey as possible. Knowing the Blackbird's connections, they're not as safe as they think..."
Then, he gave Irene a long and sharp look.
A serious look that meant business.
"Whatever happens, I want them to be kept classified."

Somewhere deep below the building, a man was seated on a leather chair; arms and legs bundled and locked. His hands were pulled back to wrap himself, as if he was just giving himself a huge and warm hug, but with locks. The position wasn't hurting him, nor even pissing him off.
Instead, even after numerous questioning sessions with various agents, he remained composed like the man he always appeared to be.
Funny how the agents were still feeding him despite what he did.
Good people will always be soft-hearted, which is why they are so easy to fool. Pathetic, he thought.
"Taehyung, you might not be talking now, but soon, you will." The psychiatrist assigned to help him speak up and reveal his secrets finally gave up after an hour with him, and decided to leave for the day.
When Taehyung was left alone in the white walled building- similar to the underground room he built for his victims at the villa- he went from smiling to glaring at the mirror the psychiatrist placed facing his direction. He knew, it was a trick to make him reflect on himself and give up his massive secrets.
But after glaring at his own face for a few long seconds, Taehyung's lips formed into a smile.
Ah. That maniac kind of smile he always had. He just toned it down in front of everyone in Soar High, blending in with his perfect skills to be the most perfect student any school would love to have.
Too bad. His plans have just begun.
Too bad, they would've wished he was really dead.
A few gunshots won't make the Blackbird die, but those birdies don't know that. Heck, what do they know?
"Five little birdies lost in the woods..." His voice echoed in the empty room. "No one will find them, well nobody should."
He titled his head backwards, staring deep into the mirror.
"Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the darkest of them all?"
His pale lips curved into a dirty smirk, leaving his answer echoing inside his own head.
Knowing he was being monitored through CCTV's, the man just chuckled at himself. Despite being the one tied to a leather chair and not being able to run free, Taehyung wasn't the least worried.
Because everything is happening just as he planned.
