Chapter Five~ Year Five

Sapphire's pov

I stared out the window at the rainy day,a smile on my face. I love rainy days. So calm and peaceful. Mr.Benz had relocated us to Denver because he said, "I can't stand living in this god damn dump!" So we left. I've been put in school and all I know is kids can be cruel. They laugh at me for being an orphan,they tell me I'm different for my name and looks,all the girls are blonde and blue eyes,the boys all have red or black hair with brown or blue eyes,I'm all alone. Mr.Benz doesn't care anymore,he's always in his room. "Child,darling,I'm back sweetie." I heard a humming voice whisper,I turned my behead to see Jack,his hair soaking wet. "Hi Jack." I mumble and look out the window,I'm used to seeing him once a year now,it's a normal for me. "Darling,is everything okay?" He asked quietly. I nodded. "Jack,why are kids cruel?" I asked quietly. He looked at me and pulled me to his chest,holding me tight. "Kids are just like flowers,they start out pretty,and looking nice,but once you get close enough,you realize they are ugly and more like a poison." He mutters,I nod my head slightly. He sighed,his breath hitting my head. "We have two more days till you leave,sweetie." He whispers,I lift my head up slightly. "Two years?" I asked,he nodded. "Sweet,Sweet,Shapphire,I swear I'll miss you..." He whispers,I smile. "I swear I'll miss you." I say back. He smiles and let's me go as the rain stops. "Goodbye,Sapphire,I'll come back soon." He says as he disappears. "Goodbye Jack," I whisper when he's gone.
