Middle School Levi and Erwin
-
"Are you okay?" I gradually look up to see a handsome blonde-headed guy making his way towards me. His shoulders seem to be very broad and he's much taller than I will ever be. "Here. Let me help you." He places his hand in front of my face, offering it to me.
I look at him for just a few seconds, trying to read his face just to see if he'll end up doing something. I hesitate at first, but then, seeming that he looks as if he genuinely wants to help, I offer him my hand as he helps me up from off the ground. "I heard about you. You're the guy that's constantly getting into fights. Levi, right?" I don't say anything, not because I don't want to, but because I'm not in a good position to talk. I turn my head away from him as I look at the ground, giving him a nod. "Want me to take you to the nurse's office? I can help you get cleaned up." The two of us walk away from where we were standing and are now heading to the infirmary.
This guy still grabs hold of my hand, not letting go at all. I stare at him, wondering to myself as to why he's so desperate to help me when he doesn't know a thing about me. But maybe it's because of comfort. Maybe he notices me limping on my foot and wants to comfort me.
"Do you feel any better?" I look at him and nod while slightly smiling.
As of now, I'm currently in the infirmary with the guy who has little to no eyebrows whom I sort of find attractive. I'm sitting on one of the beds while the guy is kneeling down before me, just getting finished with bandaging my scrapped knees and legs.
"Gosh. You even ruined your face." He caresses his thumb over my left cheek as I gaze into his eyes, amused as to how he looks. But more than anything, I'm obsessed with his blue, ocean-like eyes. It's as if I can easily see the ocean just from simply sitting here.
I blush, then move my head away from him just so he can stop brushing his thumb over my cheek. "It'll be fine, really. This isn't like it's the first time I've been in a fight." I stand up from the bed but almost lose my balance as I do so.
"You're not fine. You have bruises on your ankles and you can't even walk properly. Come here." The blonde-haired guy turns around to where I'm now facing his back as he bends down.
"What the hell are you-"
"Get on my back. I'll make sure you get home safe."
I just stare at him as if he's crazy, hesitating to do as I'm told. "But you don't even know where I stay. Look, I told you I'm fine."
"You won't be able to make it back to class with your leg and ankles beat up like that. Just tell me where you stay. I'll take you there."
I close my eyes and let out a sigh as I give him my address. From there, the two of us secretly leave school grounds as this guy takes me home just like he said he would.
I stay seated on his back, but throughout the whole walk home, I've been staring at him non-stop, trying to figure out why he desperately wants to help me. It's not like I'm anything special. Hange is the only person who has always helped me get out of fights but never did anyone else, so all I want to know is...why?
Why is he going out all of his ways to do something when he doesn't know who I am?
"Hey," I finally speak. "You never told me...your name..."
The guy sort of turns his head to his side, seeming to glance at me from out of the corner of his eyes. "It's Erwin. Erwin Smith."
"Oh," Is all I let out. "Is it um, okay if I lay my head down on your back? I'm kind of feeling dizzy."
"Um, yeah? We're almost at your address anyway. So don't worry. I'll take care of you." I gently lay my head on his back, not wanting to put too much pressure, thinking to myself that it'll only add more weight to him...
He smells nice. Sort of like a scent of vanilla mixed with *sniff* *sniff* pastries and coffee?
I close my eyes and continue to sniff his shirt, enjoying the pleasant scent while slightly smiling. "You okay back there?" Erwin suddenly asks.
I flinch and respond with, "Y-yeah. I'm okay."

"Are your parents home?"
"My uncle isn't home," I correct him. "He's...never home." I attempt to hop off of Erwin's back but that only leads me to tumble my way to the ground.
"You should've waited until I crouched down to let you go." Erwin places his hand right in front of me, offering it to me like he did earlier today, but I don't accept this time.
"I can get up on my own. And you can leave now. I can take care of myself." I say it like it's no big deal, but the way I walk only shows that it's...a big deal. No matter how hard I try not to, I can't stop limping on my left leg.
"No, you can't. You're injured." Erwin wraps my arm around his neck and asks. "Seriously, what did those guys do to you?" I don't answer instead, I keep quiet, waiting for the next question he'll be asking. "Where's your room?" I direct him straight to my room as the two of us uncomfortably walk inside together.
I almost lose my balance, but Erwin catches my fall before anything can happen. "My ankle. I-it hurts. It won't stop throbbing and it stings." Without thinking, I wrap both of my arms around Erwin's neck for support, which only leans his body closer towards me. "There's a first aid kit somewhere in my uncle's room. His room is on the right. It should be in a brown drawer. You'll see it when you get in there."
"Alright. Here. I'll help you to your bed." Erwin does as he says, but as he helps me make my way to my bed, I all of a sudden become...clumsy.
I try letting go of Erwin, but putting pressure on my injured foot only makes the pain somehow increase. My right hand is still holding onto Erwin as I accidentally fall down on the bed, bringing Erwin down with me.
He's...on top of me.
Erwin's hands are near my head, but he's unaware that his body is hovering over mines since his eyes are squinted close. But once he opens them, he just stares at me, making me a tad bit uncomfortable, but also mesmerized by the color of his eyes.
"E-Erwin?" I finally speak, but nothing else would come out of my mouth.
"I'll go...get the first aid kit." And just like that, Erwin swiftly moves from off top of me as he hastily walks away and into the other room.
What was that feeling? It's as if my heart felt like it was bound to burst out of my chest at any moment of time...
Erwin Smith. The one guy who stands out more than any other guy because of his blue-ocean-like eyes, his broad shoulders, his weird but cute eyebrows, and even the smell of his shirt.
This might just be my very first crush.
