The day after Luke watched Belle, he found himself standing in the hall outside apartment 24, a book in hand, contemplating knocking on the dark green door.
Eventually, he situated his hand right below the brass numbers; 24, and rapped on the door twice. In less than thirty seconds, the door was swung open by none other than Belle. I was taken aback by her appearance. She was wearing a black arctic monkeys tee, a black skater skirt, and white knee socks. And, she looked like a goddess, her natural beauty stunning me.
"Well hello Belle, you look absolutely stunning. May I come in? I brought my favorite novel." I asked. "Oh, yeah, yes. Please, that would be great." She answered, stumbling to get out of my way. I walked into the living room and sat down, waiting for her. I heard the door close, then open again, this repeated six times until she came bounding into the living room and jumped onto the couch, sitting criss-crossed, her skinny legs twisting together beautifully.
"So, I brought 'To Kill A Mockingbird', it's my favorite." I said, hoping my selection was okay. "Oh, I've never read it, I have heard it is quite good though." She replied. "So, shall I start?" I asked. "Yes please, that would be great." She answered.
"When he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. When it healed, and Jem's fears of never being able to play football again were assuaged, he was seldom self-conscious about his injury. His left arm was somewhat shorter than his right; when he stood or walked, the back of his hand was at right angles to his body, his thumb parallel to his thigh. He couldn't have cared less, so long as he could pass and punt....."
I continued on reading until I got to the end of the first chapter, slowly placing a scrap of paper in the book. "So, is that all for today you think?" I asked. "Oh, um yes. Will you be coming back tomorrow?" She asked, standing up. "If you would like me too." I replied, also standing. "Well, until tomorrow, then." She said, a goofy grin painting her face. "Until tomorrow then." I said stepping out the door.
