As they dragged him away, I collapsed to my knees. I shook with my sobs, my dad kneeled in front of me.
"He was going to marry me." I said. "We had a future together." I said.
"I know baby, I know." He wrapped his arms around me. Everyone was speechless.
"How in love, was in love." Steve asked.
"He wanted me to stay and marry him." I said. "When I was in Asgard, he and I were together all the time." I said. "We were two peas in a pod. not only was he my lover, he was my best friend." I said. I looked at Thor, who looked at me with a sad look in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Melody." He said. "If there was something I could do, I'd do it." He said.
"It's fine." My dad was sat on the floor, and he had his arms around me, and me laying on his chest. "Dad, why did I get so attached?" I asked.
"Because he was good to you." He said. "He loved you more than the power he had. He gave it all up for you." He said, I felt my heart shatter.
"Dad, I feel so stupid." I said, "I let him in, and I knew I shouldn't have." I tightened my grip on my dad's arms.
"Baby girl, if you want to cry, just cry." He said, I let out another sob. "Thor, do you know where they took him?" Suddenly, Director Fury's voice filled the room.
"They brought him back to the helicarrier ." He said. "Is she alright Stark?"
"Nope, your men just ripped my daughter out of the arms of the only man she's ever loved." He said. Fury looked down at me.
"He was going to marry me." I said.
"Not anymore." He said. "Sorry Melody." He said. I got up, and my dad nodded.
"Put his ass on the grill kiddo." He said.
"How insensitive are you?" I snapped. "You just took the love of my life away from me and you don't even care?" I spat, "You are such a dick!" I snapped.
"Melody, I'm just doing my job."
"Whatever, I don't care anymore!" I snapped, and walked out.
"Stark!" He called.
"What?" He shot me a glare.
"Watch your tone with me kid." He snapped.
"Screw you Fury." I snapped, and stormed off.
"Tony, tame your daughter."
"She's heartbroken, she and I aren't responsible for her actions, or words." He said. I sat on the balcony and cried, I felt someone watching me, and when I turned around, my dad was sitting there. "Hey, baby I'm so sorry." He said, walking over to me, standing behind me and resting his hands on my shoulders.
"Dad, why did he do this?" I asked.
"He wanted father's attention." Thor said from the doorway. "Tony can I speak to her, alone?"
"Of course." Dad kissed the top of my head, then left.
"Melody, I know how much this hurts, but you need to live for him." He said. I frowned.
"How am I supposed to do that?" I asked, Thor sat beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, and I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"You let him go." He said.
"I can't do that. No one has ever made me feel the way he does." I said. "I can't go on without him." I felt another tear slip down my cheek.
"Melody, when I first saw you with him in the garden, I knew you were made for each other." He said with a light laugh.
"Yeah, so did I." I said with a sad smile. "I did until all of this." I said. He frowned.
"He still loves you." He said, "He was willing to end this for you." He said. "He longed for you." He said. I frowned.
"Thor, How long?"
"What?"
"How long has he loved me?"
"Since that summer two years ago." He said.
"Can you take me to the helicarrier?" I asked. He nodded. I went back inside, director Fury was briefing the Avengers on the rest of the mission. I glared at him.
"Mel, come here please love?" My dad asked. I nodded. "What you up to?"
"Going to see him." I whispered. Dad nodded.
"Be careful." He said. I nodded, and Thor and I left.
