Sunlight beams down onto my face, blinding me as I wake. The back of my head throbs in pain, I go to rub away the pain and feel a slick wet substance on my fingers. looking back I see a puddle of thick black goo that almost looks........alive. It pulsates slowly, like a dying heart, before suddenly falling limp and spreading across the rocky floor.  I scan the area and realize that I'm at the bottom of a ravine. Thinking back I recall I had found it near my village on the edge of the mistral border.  Looking up at the hole's entrance as it pours light down onto me I'm in awe that I'm alive. I must have fallen at least 12 to 15 meters.

"what the hell happened to me?"I say as I get up and rub the back of my head. A disembodied voice answers back.

"You died obviously." said the voice.  It sounded demonic but familiar?

" Who's there!" I shout, looking around for any sign of where the voice is coming from. Nothing answers back aside from my echo. Silence engulfs the ravine once more, and a cold shiver climbs up my spine.  I shake my head, assuming it was all my imagination, probably caused by hitting my head so hard. I scan the walls for anything I can use to climb out, luckily there is a portion of the wall that is filled with cracks and edges. I climb up the jagged rocks, struggling to fit my fingers in some of the crevices. Finally, I reach the top and flop onto a patch of tall grass. Suddenly the voice returned, making my hair stand at attention.

"Finally you're out of that pit, it was so cramped down there. Not to mention the smell, ugh!" it said.

"What and where are you?" I shout confusedly, scrambling to my feet and looking around the forest.  I scan the trees and rocks seeing a dark figure in the corner of my eye, yet when I look back....... it is gone. I breathe a quick sigh of relief and turn around only to be met with the mysterious figure. It was some kind of Grimm, one that wore my face and shared my body. It's a mirror image of me only with Red glowing eyes and razor-sharp teeth and claws.

"Hello roomie," it said playfully with its face nearly inches away from mine.

"What... what are you? why do you look like me!" I say while backing away in fear and confusion.

"What am I? Well, I'm you of course, well a part of you anyway."It says with a smile.

" What are you talking about!" I say with wide eyes, fear creeping into my voice.

"You fell into that ravine and died. that big head of yours landed in that puddle of Grimm, split right open and a bit of that goop managed to get inside your brain. Then poof, I'm brought to life and you were brought back to life in the process," the creature explains.

" How in the hell does that even work!" I ask as I step onto the ravine's edge and look down, searching for the pool of grim that it mentioned. "Beats me, I was just born a few minutes ago." the creature says with a shrug of his shoulders.

"If you were just born a few minutes ago, how do you know how to talk? among other things," I asked genuinely confused. I back away from the edge and face the creature.

"Oh, that's easy. I'm literally in your head so whatever you know, I know, and whatever you can do, I can do," it explained.

"Wait a minute so when you called me roomie earlier you meant that literally!"  I say in shock, eyes wide in disbelief.

"yep! looks like we're stuck with each other. Until I can take control that is." It says with a laugh.

"Then why haven't you already?" I question, half afraid of the answer.

"I don't know how yet. I was just born a few minutes ago remember, but in time I'll find a way. Until then, I don't mind enjoying the ride," it says with a smirk. It floats around me like a specter. Its smirk grows into a grin as it relaxes, laying back like it's in a hammock.
