Air rushed through my hair as I plummet toward the ground.
I shield my face as I prepare for impact...but I get grabbed by someone as I crash to the ground with a thud
I open my eyes to see Neo gracefully gliding down with her umbrella.
I look around and saw no one else...so she was the one who grabbed me.
"Thanks," I say as she lands
"You'd be a pile of blood without me!" She says
"I'm not, so thanks," I say as she smirks
"Watch and learn!"
"Where are we supposed to be heading toward?" I ask as she points in a direction.
We get moving as I keep a lookout. Grimm might be roaming around...they might just be waiting to attack.
"So, I guess we are partners," I say as she nods
"That's a good thing I guess,"
"Yea, better than us being separate," I say as she nods.
Suddenly Neo stops and I almost trip over her.
"What's up?" I ask as she stares ahead of us...then I hear it.
Grimm.
I ready my sword as Neo gets into a fighting stance.
Then Grimm appears. Neo didn't wait until she started attacking.
She danced around like a ballerina as she jabs the Grimm with the tip of our umbrella which was now a sharp blade
I spotted some Grimm trying to flank us so I approached to attack them.
Despite how much I would rather not think about him. I remember what Romain taught me and put it to use.
I used my weight to swing the sword. It smashed against the Grimm as it evaporated away.
"That was easy," I mutter as I move on to the next. I took out two as I notice Neo was surrounded.
All the Grimm leaped for her as I rushed to help her...I was too slow
The Grimm reached her before I could....then she shattered and all the Grimm smashed into themselves with enough force to kill them all.
I look around confused as Neo tapped my shoulder
"There you are!" I say as she smirks
"See how cool my semblance is!" She says with eyes waiting for approval.
"It was pretty cool!" I say as she smiles.and blushes
"We need to keep moving!" I say as she nods. We met more Grimm along the way but it wasn't bad now that I had seen them a few times
We reached some ruins pretty fast, a bunch of chess pieces surrounded the ruins.
"So we just grab one?" I ask Neo as she shrugs.
I grab the Queen as we make our way back to Ozpin.
At some point, I could hear screaming but me and Neo ignored it as we continued our way back.
When we reached Ozpin he looked surprised to see us.
"Back so soon?" He asks as we nod
"Wow, that's sooner than expected...well, you may return to the academy," he says as he collects our piece.
"So what do you want to do?" I ask Neo
"I don't know," she says shrugging
"We can grab a bite to eat," I say as she nods excitedly
"Great idea!"
We go to the cafeteria and pick up some food. There was a wide selection of food to choose from.
Neo opted for a sandwich with a side of ice cream. I just grabbed a sandwich
As we ate, I noticed someone sat down next to Neo.
"Are you a new student?" A girl with Bunny ears asks
Neo looked at her and nodded
"Wow, aren't you just adorable!" She says before covering her mouth and blushing
"I'm sorry, I don't usually talk much," the bunny girl says as Neo smiles and looks at me
"I like her! Let's be friends!"
Damn it Neo, always making me do all the hard work
"Hi there, this is Neo, and I'm (Y/N), Neo is mute so I usually help her communicate," I tell her as she nods
"Ohhhh, I seeee. I'm Velvet by the way, a second-year," she says as Neo looks at her up and down
"She's cute!"
"Neo says your cute," I say as she blushes. Neo looked at me as she puffs her cheek
"You weren't supposed to tell her that!"
"Oh? I wasn't? Sorry," I say as Velvet looks at me like I'm crazy
"Can you understand her?" She asks as I nod
"Imma Mind Reader," I tell her
"Wow, cool! Really?" She asks as I nod
"Man I wish I had that!" She says as I chuckle
"It's not all it sounds out to be," I say as she smiles
"Everyone semblance is like that, anyway, I gotta go, cya around," she says as we wave her off
We sit in the cafeteria for a while until an Announcement comes out calling for all first-years to go to the meeting hall.
Me and Neo finish our lunch and we go to the meeting place.
Everyone was back from the initiation and Ozpin was waiting on the stage
"So I will announce everyone's teams," he says as he starts listing off teams.
" (Y/N), Indigo, Neopolitan, David," he calls us up as we walk up
"You four will make the team MIND, lead by (Y/N)," he says as I look at him in surprise.
Neo winked at me as I noticed the other two.
The girl called Indigo had dark hair and fair skin. Her eyes were Indigo so I'm guessing that's where she got her name from.
David was a muscular guy, he was darker and quite handsome....in fact, he probably put most guys on remnant to shame.
"Congrats to every first year here at Beacon,"
