(Y/N) POV

My heart was pounding in my chest

I felt Neo's hand against mine...I squeezed it...making sure it was still there.

My Mom looked at me as tears started to run down her face.

Her mouth curled into a smile...

"Welcome home," she says as my head goes light.

I'm fainting.

I look at the woman who had made my childhood a living hell...and she is smiling? Why!

Does she enjoy that I finally came crawling back for help? Does she think I actually came here for help!

As my vision darkened I looked into her eyes. They reminded me of mine whenever I look at myself in the mirror...you could say that I had my mother's eyes.

I know you're reading my mind right now. And I know that you must think I hate you.

It was all fake...it was all for your future...for everyone's future.

I know you might not forgive me...but I needed to trick you.

I'm so proud to see you right now.

Before I could read her mind more...I passed out.

Neo POV

I looked at the woman as her (H/C) colored hair flowed in the wind.

She looked just like (Y/N)

I feel his hand squeeze mine as he looks at her.

He looked surprised...I wouldn't blame him.

He had never talked about his mother often...but the impression he left when he did was one of disgust.

I know that he hated his mother...I know that she beat him...made his life miserable.

She was supposed to hate him.

So why.

Why is she crying?

Why does she have that same motherly look like my mom had when we reunited.

It doesn't make sense...she beat him...she hated him.

I felt (Y/N)s hand go limp and I look at him.

His eyes fluttered open and shut...and his body started to tumble.

I barely caught him, his weight sent me down to one knee and Indigo and David helped me

"Come inside, we can lay him down on the couch," his mother says as she opens the door more.

I looked at her as I studied her expression...she was worried...she wasn't faking it...you could tell she had real concern.

"Come on," I gesture to David as we carry him inside.

We laid him on the couch and I caught his mother's eye.

She smiled at me.

I felt my rage start to overflow as I was about to make a snarly comment about her but Indigo put her hand on my shoulder

I turn to her but she had all her focus on (Y/N)s Mother.

"Would you kids like some tea?" She says in an oddly young voice. She looked young for her age too.

Is this really his mother?

I mean...the resemblance between them is undoubtedly there...but she looks more like his sister than his mother.

"I am his mother," she says looking at us.

"Sorry for staring," I say trying to contain my dislike of her.

"Are you his friends?" She asks us.

"Yeah," David says as she smiles

"That's good...he made some good friends after he left," she says I look at her with a puzzled look on my face

"Since your here...I presume it's because someone told (Y/N) to come here?" She asks as Indigo perks up.

"How did you know?" She asks as (Y/N)s mother sighs

"It was 12 years ago...I was visited by Ozpin," she says as Oscar now turns his attention to her...something flashes in his eyes.

"You were visited by Ozpin?" Indigo asks as she nods

"Yes...(Y/N) woulda been only 4 or 5," she says with a smile.

"He was so pure back then," she says as she takes a step toward his sleeping body.

I slowly get in between them to tell her to keep her distance...she got the message.

"What did Ozpin do?" Indigo asks

"Well, since your here...I guess it's time to tell you," she mutters looking at (Y/N).

"I was given a mission of the outmost importance...it would send us on a route to save everyone...all I had to do is get my son to hate me and leave for Vale," she begins

"So...I did things that still break my heart today..." She begins but Indigo interrupts.

"(Y/N) told us on the way here that you hated him because he got his father arrested," Indigo asks as his mother nods

"Yes...that's what he thinks he did," she mutters

"In reality...his father was dead before he could probably remember," she says as we all look at her surprised

"What do you mean! He seemed so certain about it," Indigo pressures her

"Yes that's because I installed memories into him," she says matter of fact

"Wait what?" David says clearly lost

"My semblance is memory manipulation," she says as Indigo thinks

"So you changed his memories...why?" Indigo asks

"Because Ozpin said it was the only way," she reasons

"Why would he do that!" Indigo says a little frustrated.

"I don't know why...all he said is this would save everyone," she adds

"Ozpin...what were you after?" Indigo mutters
