Prologue

It had been one month since Juliette sent in her application for the internship of a lifetime, and one week since she had talked through her laptop to a pair of officials. Now, it had been approximately one minute since she received the letter straight from the hands of the mailman with the classic Google logo prominently stamped in the corner. She breathed heavily - working at Google had been her dream job. It involved her favorite things, her skills, and a badass working environment.

Throwing fear to the wind, she ripped the seal open with her pointer finger and eagerly tugged the crisply folded letter from its carrier.

"Dear Ms. Juliette Hogan..."

She breathed the words aloud as if whispering to herself, annoying her anxious family awaiting to hear the outcome. Her eyes scanned the paper and her hands gripped the edges tightly. Her mother, Alex, moved her gaze back and forth from the letter to her daughter's face, as if looking for a sign.

"...You have been accepted as an intern at Google!..."

Suddenly, Juliette's face broke out in a grin and her eyes filled with light. Squealing, she passed the letter to her parents and brother, who crowded around the sheet before warmly congratulating her.

"...See you soon, Noogler!"

Juliette already knew that getting this opportunity would change her life; but, little did she know that her experience would not only change her career trajectory but it would also change her love life forever.
