I never realized that the idea behind sinking or swimming could be taken so literally. That humans can either float or sink through life, and sometimes they don't even get to choose which way it goes. Some people handle difficult situations better, or even the way trauma affects them. Sinking or swimming is a mindset, one that takes a lot of strength. If you don't want to swim, you're never going to reach the surface. One little wave will knock you right back down again. But if you're actively trying to swim, that little wave will set you back but not deter your path.
I choose to swim. I choose to survive. I choose to fight.
