3:05 PM

[Y/n] searched for the familiar black-haired boy that she was tasked to bring back. As she squinted her eyes looking through the sea of toddlers, she saw the iconic hairstyle.

Rui stood next to the red gate, fidgeting with his fingers. [Y/n] walked towards him and patted his head.

"C'mon let's go back!" she smiled and extended out her hand to Rui.

Rui did take her hand but [Y/n] didn't expect him to drag her in the opposite direction of the exit. [Y/n] had heavily underestimated the strength that the tiny boy possessed.

"R-Rui!? What's going on?" she asked, confused at the lack of response from Rui.

He took a left turn, leading [Y/n] to the kindergarten's playground. Smalls chunks of sandy soil were kicked up as a pair [favourite colour] sneakers and a smaller pair of trainers thudded against the ground.

They came to a sudden stop. And [Y/n] could now guess why Rui had so hurriedly brought her here. Loud wailing travelled across the playground and shattered their eardrums. A yellow-haired boy sat at the end of the green slide, next to him was a rambunctious boy that had a boar backpack. The chaotic boy was screaming and telling the crying boy to 'man up and fight him'. On the other side of the crying boy was a burgundy-haired boy that attempted to calm both him and the screaming child.

"Are they your friends?" [Y/n] whispered to Rui.

He nodded and pushed [Y/n] forward.

Taking a deep breath, she walked towards the group and squatted down so they were eye level.

"Are you okay? Why are you crying?" she asked with a gentle voice.

"H-he puushehhr memejejhs!!!!" The yellow-haired boy blubbered out.

[Y/n] had absolutely no idea what he just said.

She turned to the burgundy-haired boy, who appeared to be the calmest out of the group.

"What happened to your friend?"

"Zenitsu accidentally fell and scraped his knee because Inosuke was chasing him," he replied.

"Oh dear..."

"Quit being a crybaby and walk it off!!" the boy which [Y/n] presumed to be Inosuke yelled.

"Inosuke! Apologize to Zenitsu!" the burgundy-haired boy rebuked.

"Guys, please stop fighting-"

A loud smack echoed throughout the playground and rivalled against Zenitsu's loud cries.

Rui had smacked Inosuke in the head.

"Listen to what [Last name] nee-san has to say, you idiot sandwich."

"Rui!!!"

"HOW DARE YOU HIT THE KING OF THE MOUNTAINS-"

"Enough." [Y/n] slightly raised her voice at the boisterous group. Her voice wasn't loud to the point where it was a yell, but it was stern like a commander who was about to instruct her troop. The group immediately shut up, stunned by the girl's sudden change.

"Rui, can you please lead me to the teachers' office? I believe they should have a first aid kit there. You guys stay here and take care of your friend's belongings, okay?" [Y/n] quickly composed herself and resumed her usual gentle tone.

The two boys nodded, watching the taller girl walk hand in hand with their crying friend to the teachers' office.

Zenitsu's child hand was tiny compared to [Y/n]'s larger teen hand. Rui occasionally looked behind, making sure that [Y/n] and Zenitsu were both okay. To him, everything seemed humongous when [Y/n] walked with them.
