Since the wedding, everybody has been relaxed and happy as nothing bad had happened at the wedding as expected. Surprisingly Nisha's grandpa and parents were happy to see Meera and her kids, which in turn removed all the walls between both the families. Also with Narayanan apologizing to Meera, those good old days, filled with happiness were brought back.
But one poor soul lost his peaceful days on the wedding day! Nakul knew that Meera and kids were growing within him and he tried his best to ignore it. He had always appreciated the beauty and was looking forward to overcoming this infatuation or crush with Meera on the wedding day! There were so many beautiful ladies too, but his eyes were always focused on one woman in mustard and red saree! How much ever he tried, his eyes ended up on her!
As risking his friendship was out of the question, he decided to ignore her and the kids and planned to leave for his grandma's place the next morning. But, with each person mistaking him as Meera's husband or the kids' father, his determination was crumbling down and when some lady started planning a blind date for Meera with her son, he lost it and decided to act on his feelings. He didn't want to regret it later, and thought about ways to approach Sachin, which would give him less physical damage!
He was too immersed in his thoughts that he was caught off guard when Sachin entered his room and touched his shoulder.
Sachin: "Hey Man! What happened to you?"
Nakul: "Nothing! Why? I didn't see you coming. I was thinking about certain things."
Sachin: "And that is what I'm asking. What is troubling you that you are thinking too much?"
Nakul: "Nothing...Just some random stuff.." Nakul shrugged.
Sachin: "No... it is not just me, even Meera said that you are not yourself since the wedding! Did something happen?"
Knowing that Meera noticed his changes made him happy and worried at the same time!
Nakul took a deep breath and decided to open up to Sachin.
Nakul: "See Dude!! Please don't be mad and listen to me patiently. I know I have promised you...but I can't do this anymore. Please don't misunderstand me... You have seen how much I love to spend time with the kids... I... I wish to be with them...like this..always..I... I... F**k !!! Sachi, I like Meera and her kids and I want to marry her!" After a deep sigh, he looked at Sachin like a kid waiting for his father's punishment!
Sachin knew where this was going when Nakul was so nervous and talked without meeting his eyes. Still, he didn't know whether to be happy about it or not! He knew that Meera and kids can have a happy life with his best friend, but he was sure that Meera wouldn't be ready for this.
He looked at his friend for some time, studying him, and nodded his head.
Sachin: " Hmm... I will talk to her but don't have any hope. Meera might not accept it. Anyway, I will try and I would present it as my interest. Don't talk to her about this. You will scare her away! Ok?" Nakul nodded not knowing what else to do. Thankfully nothing happened. He was confused about his reaction but thought better not to push his luck!

Later as promised, Sachin talked to Meera and as he had expected, she was against the idea.
Meera: "No Achi! Why would you even think about it? He is an eligible bachelor! I'm not a match for him. " She chuckled while Sachin raised his right eyebrow, demanding an answer.
Meera: "Ok... Leave him...Let us imagine he will agree to it. Then, what about his family? Let's be real. His parents will never agree to this. Certain things are drilled deep within us, and an Indian mother, who grew up following our culture and traditions will not be able to accept us, how progressive they are! Sachi, I don't another family to cry or fight because of me!" Sachin was going to interrupt when she continued.
Meera: "Most importantly, I cannot handle it Da. I'm not some young girl who dreams about prince charming and happily ever after! Marriage comes with a lot of commitments and expectations, which is too much to handle for me. Now, I can decide by myself for me and my kids and I don't have to worry about pleasing anyone or hurting anybody's feelings. But with marriage, everything will change and that's reality. And there is no perfect man or woman in this world. So please da... I cannot take this much risk with my kids. I will be risking their life. No, I can't!"
Sachin understood her worries and knew that she wouldn't change her mind. He was sad would be an understatement. He wished there would be a companion for his sister and knew Nakul would be a good one at that, which was once again confirmed when he heard Nakul's response.
When Nakul heard about Meera's opinion, he understood her worries. He wanted to respect her decision, but couldn't! She was scared, and he wasn't ready to leave her alone with her fears.
Nakul: "Ok I understand her point. But what if I help her overcome her worries?" Sachin shook his head and was going to interrupt.
Nakul: "No. Listen to me Sachin. I don't mean to talk her into it. What if I prove to her that I can be a good companion? I know, this might sound stupid! But If I don't do this, I might regret it later! Please let me be her friend, and help her overcome her fears. I promise you that I won't force or manipulate her decision in any way! If and only if she realizes that a life with me wouldn't be a bad idea, I will even propose to her. If not, I will stop everything and will leave them alone. What I need is your's and your family's permission."
Sachin embraced him feeling grateful and wished his sister would realize that having a companion is a good thing. When Sachin told about it to Meera's parents, his parents, and grandparents, they were too happy that they agreed to it immediately! And everybody made a pact that they wouldn't let Meera, her kids, and Keerthi know about this!
Nisha was worried that Meera might get a wind of it when Nakul tries to woo her! But Sachin knew how dumb her sister is in this field and he ensured that she wouldn't believe even if a guy directly approaches her! To prove his point, he even quoted an instance when she thought it was a prank when a guy proposed to her.
Sachin: "You don't believe me right? huh? You both have no idea how difficult it was for me. I had to shoo away those guys as she always thinks of them as friends. Once there was this guy who said that he would give her a letter and needs her help to translate it from Malayalam to English, and this fool said that she would get my mom's help as she can do it better than herself! That guy never showed up again and though she never realized it, luckily got rid of him!"
Nisha and Nakul were in a fit of laughter.
Nisha: "Nakul, All the best dear!" She whispered to him not wanting to offend her hubby!
