Amidst the swarms of people who had crowded around as they watched the scene unfold before their eyes, Kim Jungwoo was one of them.
Freshman to School of Performing Arts (SOPA), it was the boy's very first day at high school.
On the very first day, he got to know Min Aera.
He liked her.
He liked her fashion sense, he liked her attitude, he liked her smile - even if she only smiled if she was about to inflict intense pain.
In fact, he liked her even more because of that.
And he wanted to show it.
Whipping his head in the direction the girl had walked away in, he was aghast to find that her figure was disappearing from view.
He sprinted towards her direction, hoping and praying he'd catch her before class.
Thankfully, since she wasn't particularly trying to walk fast, he caught up to her easily.
"Hey!" he yelled, trying to catch her attention.
She turned her head slightly, catching sight of a puppy-looking boy running towards her.
She sighed.
Yet another soft boy trying to get her number. They just don't stop do they?
She turned her head back around, continuing to stroll forward.
A confused pout appeared on Jungwoo's face. She had clearly heard him. Then, why was she ignoring him?
"Hey!" he tried again, grabbing her wrist.
She whirled around, jerking her hand away and pushing him against the wall.
She glared at him, eyes slitted.
"What do you want? She growled. "You've got five seconds."
Flustered by her close proximity, he started, "Well, I-I thought you were r-really cool just now at the hallway and I love that you s-stood up for that girl and gave that boy what he deserved and I was w-wondering-"
"Five, four, three, two, one." Aera's bored tone drowned out his speech. "Done with your sappy speech pretty boy? Okay, now get lost."
Jungwoo's head cocked in confusion. Didn't he just compliment her? Why was she telling him to get lost?
"Can we be frien-" he started again.
"No pretty boy, we cannot. Now actually get lost before i kick your ass too." she snapped.
It was then that Jungwoo realised Aera's face extremely close to his, their noses almost touching.
He looked away, a rosy blush forming on his cheeks.
Kim Aera, on the other hand, was far from blushing.
In fact, she took another step forward, lips touching his ear as she uttered three words.
"Get. Fucking. Lost."
Pulling away from him, she sauntered away, a satisfied grin plastered onto her face.
"Dear me, was I too harsh on him? It seemed like it was his first day of school. Oh well, I can't turn back time, can I? At least I know pretty boy will be too afraid to pester anymore." she remarked to herself.
Indeed, Kim Jungwoo did not follow her.
He instead stayed where she had left him, watching her disappearing figure, admiration crystal clear.
No, he wasn't scared or deterred by her actions. He, on the contrary, admired her for effortlessly being able to control anyone she wanted, including himself.
Kim Aera thought she'd seen the last of the boy she called pretty boy, but that was just the first of many times she'd see, and possibly grow to like, Kim Jungwoo.
girlie got a big storm coming 🤠👍🏻
