Enough for you

You were a popular singer and were having a secret session with your family, friends and some of your biggest fans.

"I wrote this song a couple weeks ago, It's about a girl I dated, she absolutely shattered my heart, and I'm still not completely over that, but that's okay." You smile into the microphone as your mom sends you a wink, "It's called 'enough for you', I hope you like it."

What you didn't know was that the girl you wrote the song about was there, with her best friends.

"I wore makeup when we dated
'Cause I thought you'd like me more
If I looked like the other prom queens
I know that you loved before
Tried so hard to be everything that you liked
Just for you to say you're not the compliment type

And I knew how you took your coffee
And your favorite songs by heart
I read all of your self-help books
So you'd think that I was smart
Stupid, emotional, obsessive little me
I knew from the start this is exactly how you'd leave

You found someone more exciting
The next second, you were gone
And you left me there cryin', wonderin' what I did wrong
And you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough for you
Yeah, all I ever wanted was to be enough for you

And maybe I'm just not as interesting
As the girls and boys you had before
But God, you couldn't have cared less
About someone who loved you more
I'd say you broke my heart
But you broke much more than that
Now I don't want your sympathy
I just want myself back

Before you found someone more exciting
The next second, you were gone
And you left me there cryin', wonderin' what I did wrong
And you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough

Don't you think I loved you too much to be used and discarded?
Don't you think I loved you too much to think I deserve nothing?
But don't tell me you're sorry, girl
Feel sorry for yourself
'Cause someday I'll be everything to somebody else
And they'll think that I am so exciting
And you'll be the one who's crying

Yeah, you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
You say I'm never satisfied
But that's not me, it's you
'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough
But I don't think anything could ever be enough
For you, enough for you, oh-oh
No, nothing's enough for you."

Everyone clapped and wiped their tears away.

"Thank you guys." You smile and walk off the stage.

Leigh-Anne wiped her tears away and wanted to walk towards you but your sister stopped her.

"Don't think so." She says and pushes her backwards slightly.

"Don't touch her-"

"Perrie, it's okay, I deserve it." Leigh-Anne sighs and turns around to walk away but the sound of your voice made her turn back around.

"Leigh-Anne? What are you doing here?" You ask.

"I wanted to talk to you." Leigh-Anne says.

"Why would I want to talk to you?" You ask and cross your arms over your chest.

"Y/n, please be mature about this." Leigh-Anne says and walks into a quite corner. You get the memo and follow her short after.

"What do you want?" You ask.

"I just can't stop beating myself up for what I did to you and I need you to forgive me, because it's eating me up-"

"Wait, I need to forgive you to make you feel better?" You ask.

"Y/n, you don't understand. I became a different person when I was with you, and I don't want to turn back into my old self again." Leigh-Anne explains. "And of course I understand if you don't want to forgive me-"

"I can't just forgive you Leigh-Anne, that's not how it works." You sigh.

"I know, and I get that, but just think about it." Leigh-Anne says. "Please?"

"Fine, I'll think about it, but don't expect anything." You say again with a sigh before walking off.
