So time goes on, and with is people grow. In appearance, which is quite normal.
Elsabeth Rein, now finally thirteen years old, her hair was slightly longer now, her eyes still that vibrant shade of emerald green. And you wouldn’t believe how much taller she was, she was know quite tall and slim, with a mysterious air about her. As ever she wore her emerald coat, which in a way had become part of her features.
Kasper Schatten was taller even then Elsa was, and skinny as ever. His blonde hair was just the wrong length, and was constantly in his eyes. His eyes, that dark brown, hardened by the time in the shadows, and down the right side of his face was the pale scar that was covered mostly by his sunshine hair, the scar that was the opposite colour to his dark eyes.
Not that he really cared at all what he looked like. No one but Lila ever saw him after all.
Lila Schatten, her wild hair, dark as her eyes, the only feature she shared with her elder brother. At ten years old, she felt she could do anything, even with her crippled right leg. Such was the way with such children, her naïve way was one of her most beloved feature, and yet also a slight downfall. But in the end, she was still just a child.
Even with appearances changing they stayed as they were, a family of three. In a way Elsa was their mother, the one who brought them food, chiding them when they were naughty. Always there in times of need, always a constant figure. Always there.
Kai was the father, without a doubt. He was always on the lookout for anything that might in danger the girls, always protecting and providing. Safety, food, warmth, all he could. His tone was generally one of reassurance, and yet a constant shadow, always there.
Lila was their baby, both of them would have done anything for her, and she would try to do anything for them, and that was how they all liked it. Lila was the constant bright light, cheerful and happy, an endless chattering ball of energy. She was always there to fight away the silence, and sing away a sadness.
And that was how it was.
Elsa would rush from school the second her last class finished, all her energy suddenly back, no longer seeping out as she sat at her desk half asleep like the rest of the class. Bright she maybe, but she was too impatient, wanting only to see her friends, or hear them as the case may be.
She would rush through the puddles as she did every day, and then would spend an hour of two, or three with Kai and Lila. She would bring them food, some bread, or a can of anything she could spare from her cupboard. The they would sit drawing, or she would quietly teach Lila to count, which was her latest challenge.
She would then leave for home, which is where this account took place, an account so different from any Elsa had ever had before this moment. A moment which scrambled her mind, and her sense of right and wrong into a billion pieces.

Many of you will have forgotten these two rather important characters… you probably thought they were unimportant, background characters. I assure you they are not.
Anya Myer. A beautiful German girl, with her radiant sunshine hair, and her sky eyes. She was tall, and slim, and had a modesty about her, that was almost infuriating at times. She was unlike any girl in the city, though Anya would never have thought it herself, she was the most beautiful girl in town. Inside and out, which was probably why Edel liked her so much. He would never admit of course he was much too prideful for that.
The other character is not Edel, but in fact a rather good friend of his, it so it may seem.
Elijah Bauer, more commonly known as Eli. An odd sort of man, young, handsome, but he was a quiet sort of person, and was almost always overlooked. Except by his beloved, his Anya. The pair of them were inseparable, and very much in love. Elijah was handsome, in a different sort of way, with his dark eyes, his hair only a slightly darker shade. He was taller even then Anya, enough so to even make her feel small, but not in a bad way. He was willowy in his figure, and had a heart of pure gold, I have never heard of a man so good, and yet so betrayed. All because of one small fact, he was Jewish. Which was not a good thing in these times.
This is, in a way a bit of a side story, but important, so listen carefully, you need to remember this.

Never have I met a pair so in love, I only ever saw them once. But you could see it, see it in the way he held out his hand to her, or in the way she took it. You could see it in both of their eyes, the way they loved each other. A love like theirs is ever so rare.
The day I saw them was their wedding day, Anya all in white, her arm linked tightly in Eli’s. The pair of them stood on the steps, Anya’s family was not there, they didn’t like Eli, not one bit. But Anya didn’t care, not at all. She was happy with Eli, and she was now no longer Miss Anya Myer, but Mrs Anya Bauer.
So there they were happier than anyone could be in such times, and to there left stood Edel Rein, his heart burning with something I can only call jealousy. Don’t get me wrong Edel was Elijah’s best friend, but he had been in love with Anya for longer then anyone could remember, and it burned at his heart.

That was a year ago now, it may seem unimportant, but I advise you don’t forget it. It might get quite confusing if you do, for love can make one do the stupidest things, so personally I would advise you not to fall in love, it can only end in heartbreak, but don’t take it from me. I have seen only the bad side of love, the type that makes you want to pull your heart from your chest, because you feel only the pain of it, and nothing else.
I don’t mean that love doesn’t exists. It does, because I saw t, in they eyes of that pair. And I saw it last longer then you possibly could. Anya and Elijah were in love, probably still are. But I think, personally, that love isn’t worth the pain. But that would just be me.
