So a little on some less important people. The friends and neighbours of the Rein family.
The first ones I am going to tell you about are the good friends of Edel Rein, they will have a huge part in the choices and motivations of the Rein family.
Today was one of the few days that Edel wasn't going anywhere, so his friends came to see him, and Elsabeth could see them leaving the house from her window.
In between Edel and one of the boys was Anya Myer. Anya lives in the house next door to the Rein's, she was the daughter of Elaine and Fabian Myer. She was very pretty, and Elsa could tell why her brother liked her so much, with her blonde straight hair, and sea blue/ green eyes. She was taller then most girls her age, and thin as a stick. On her other side, smiling kindly at Anya was Elijah.
Elijah or Eli Bauer. He was tall, even taller then most if the boys his age. He was a willowy figure with his height, and thin air about him. His eyes were dark, the shade of brown so dark they almost seemed black, but there was a kind goodness in his eyes. His hair was only a few shades lighter. And he was one of the kindest people Elsa ever had met. And then there was Ariella.
Ariella Grau was the type of silent girl that was in many ways similar to Elsa herself, Ariella was shy, sweet and simple, maybe that's why Elsa liked her so much. Ariella was one of the few in the group with a happy sort of look to her, she had the brightest colour of red hair Elsa had ever seen, and she had similar eyes to Eli, dark an almost black colour but not quite. She wasn't nearly as tall as Eli or Anya, but a medium sized girl.
And the one thing only Elsa ever seemed to notice. It was the way her eyes always seemed to follow Edel's back, the way Eli's followed Anya, and Anya's followed Eli. But Edel most definitely never noticed, he was to busy watching a girl he would never have. And I'm pretty sure that later on he regrets never noticing the shy girl who always walked behind him.
And walking slower in the back with Ariella was Dominik Eisenburg. Now Dominik isn't really all that important to this story but I think that from what Elsa said to me of him he was a good man of sorts. He was taller then average, but not the willowing size of Eli, he was pole straight and thin rather like his mother, Elsa's teacher. He had blonde hair, the safest colour to have in Germany at this time. With a war going on. I remember thinking when Elsa told me about him, that I liked him best, because unlike the rest of Edel's friends, he wasn't a lovesick fool. People do stupid things for love I think.
Now I rather assume that Edel and his friends were all a little foolish, but I must say now before you all become far to attached to him, Edel is the most foolish of them all.
There are two other groups if people that I think are important enough that I should really mention them now.
There was the Schwarz Family, they were the family that lived to the right of the Rein's. This family was quite a small one compared to most German families, there were three of them.
