To say Eret was exhausted would be an understatement. This was the fourth day in a row they had been working on the L'Manberg walls...alone. Yes Wilbur had put input into the design, but that's where the support ended.
It wasn't a surprise really. The revolution was 80% comprised of teenagers. Tommy sometimes helped with mining, but the kid had the attention span of a goldfish. Tubbo tried to help, but his understanding of construction was minimal at best. When Tommy and Tubbo were together they became the biggest safety hazard on the server. Fundy knew how to build, but he was more interested in griefing.
Things had only gotten worse once Dream had started to retaliate against L'Manberg. Wilbur was adamant that peace could be obtained through the use of words alone. The Dream Team did not share this theory. Just this morning they blew up part of the walls because of a lack of surrender. Two days of work had been destroyed in seconds. Luckily, no one was hurt...yet.
Eret had just barely walked through the door of his home when he heard the splash of liquid and footsteps. In front of him was the man who wished to destroy everything they and their friends had been working for.
"I don't want to hurt you. I come with a proposal," the masked man began. "L'Manberg is a lost cause. Join me and peace will return to the server."
"I'm well aware of the struggles L'Manberg faces, Dream. Most of which are directly caused by you." Eret narrowed their eyes as they looked over the figure in-front of them. "Earlier today you were trying to murder me. Now you're trying to be all buddy buddy with me." Eret lowered their voice, "what the hell are you playing at?"
"I just want peace. A unified server. Just like old times. Before this silly rebellion," Dream stepped close to Eret. "L'Manberg is stolen land. My men and I have asked for a peaceable surrender multiple times, but your 'rebellion' refuses. Our side is getting tired of fighting. Aren't you?"
Eret hated that he could feel himself starting to agree with the masked man before him. While Dream was twisting some of what had happened, Eret would be lying if they said they weren't getting tired of the fighting. For every step the new nation took, Dream made sure they were forced to take two back. Despite the frustration, Eret still wasn't too keen on completing trusting Dream. Someone who wants peace doesn't become murderous when they don't get their way.
Dream crossed his arms and sighed. "Look. I'm going to be brutally honest here. L'Manberg is going to lose this war. I have a proposition for you that would ensure you don't feel the repercussions. Betray L'Manberg and I'll make you king of the Dream SMP.
Eret's body stiffed as Dream made his proposal. It sounded too good to be true. Eret wouldn't just be gaining recognition, they'd be gaining power. This castle would finally mean something. But most importantly, the server would be peaceful again. Yes, Eret believed in Wilbur's vision of a nation without tyranny. But was that even possible? People were going to die. Eret's friends were going to die. Dream was offering a way to prevent that.
Eret lifted his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes. She then placed the glasses back in their rightful spot. "What would I have to do?"
Dream gave a devious smile. "I'm glad you asked. Lead them to an enclosed area. Somewhere they can't easily escape. Then we'll do the rest. L'Manberg will be forced to surrender. And in the end, peace will be restored. Don't worry about having to convince the idiot children to follow you. They trust you enough that they step on a block of TNT if you told them to." Dream stuck out a hand for the other to shake. "So, do we have a deal?"
Eret tried his best to keep a neutral expression while listening to Dream's explanation. However, they couldn't hide the pain they felt in their heart when Dream brought up trust. This would destroy every bond Eret had with the L'Manbergians. But it would be for the best. Or at least that's what Eret kept trying to convince themselves.
