The Aincrad Liberation Squad, huh?
They seem really out of shape.
"Are you planning on fighting the boss of this dungeon?" I asked their apparent leader, "Because I'd advise against that. I mean, look at the condition of your men! How can you ask them to fight in that state?"
"They will be fine, and we must do this for the better of the players trapped in this game!" He responded, marching ahead with his evidently tired men.
"They're going to get themselves killed, aren't they?" X muttered.
"No kidding." I sighed, "Well, let's go help them."
We ran in the direction that the small army had set off in, and found that they had already opened the Boss Room door.
X quickly rushed in and distracted the beast whilst everyone else escaped the room.
I quickly grabbed the general of the army and pulled him away from the Boss.
"X! Go all out!" I yelled.
He grinned, flicking his left hand and turning his dagger into a scythe.
"You know, Mr Boss, I really, really, hate people." He said, using his scythe to block the Boss's attack.
"They're selfish, greedy, and lazy, with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever! Just look at all humanity has achieved! Genocide, domestic violence, racism, war, it's just a never ending collection of fuck-ups!"
His scythe became a whirlwind of death, "They are, without question, a complete write-off of a species, so how dare you make me care for their lives!"
With one final slash, X took out the second last health bar of the Boss, but it wasn't finished.
X was sent flying and was on a sliver of health, he quickly switched his weapon back to his dagger and stuck it in my arm for about ten seconds, then pulled it out again.
"Jeez, that thing's strong." He muttered, but before he could attack it again, Kirito charged it with...
Two swords?!
"Don't touch my friends!"
Kirito quickly dispatched the Boss and turned to X, "You okay?"
X nodded, "I'm fine. More importantly, you had the gall to hide a unique skill from me, you little shit."
He clapped Kirito on the shoulder, "Man, that was sick! That Dual Blades ability might match my Quickdraw ability!"
Wow.
"Kirito, what the heck was that, man?" I asked.
"Dual Blades." He said, "I dunno when it showed up, but I found it in my skills menu a month ago."
X raised his hand, "I can answer that. Dual Blades is a unique skill given to the player with the fastest reaction time. Sometime in the game, you must've proven yourself to have the fastest reaction time out of all of us."
He then turned to me, "By the way, my Quickdraw ability is also a unique skill, given to the player with the highest speed and agility stats. I've maxed them both out, so naturally I'd get the skill."
I raised an eyebrow, "Okay, sure, but how do you know all this?"
He laughed, "Because, buddy, I was one of the game developers. Or, more accurately, an Alpha Tester. I tested the game in its Alpha Release, to go through all of the skills and game mechanics to ensure everything works. That's how I know of the unique skills. Commander Heathcliff has the Holy Sword unique skill, which is given to the strongest player, and can freely switch between offense and defense, gaining near impenetrable defense and a unique attack with a shield."
He sighed, "Well, that doesn't mean I know of all the enemies in this game, but that tip I gave you at the beginning of the game about the weak point, critical point, and critical weak point? That is a secret game mechanic that no-one but me knows about. But now I assume you've told the rest of your guild, so no longer, but you know, it is what it is. By the way, don't bother trying to get a unique skill now, you can't get any of the other unique skills until Floor 90. Dual Blades, Quickdraw and Holy Sword are the only ones available before that."
He pushed Kirito and Asuna together, "You two go on to wherever you want to go, but I'm going to go report to Heathcliff about this ability you have. Kirito, you should join the Knights of the Blood. You'd be a great help to the clearers if you're part of a guild, trust me."
Kirito snorted, "You're not in a guild, either, X."
"That's because guilds and I go together about as well as water and potassium. Either the guild is destroyed, or I get kicked out. Either way, Guilds and I don't mix. That's why I don't join the Knights of the Blood." X retorted, and promptly disappeared.
"How is he that fast?" I muttered, "That's what maximum speed can do for you?"
Kirito sighed, "He even has speed boosting gear. I'm not surprised that he can practically teleport now."
Kirito turned to me, "Well, Klein, why don't you and your guild join me and Asuna for a bit? We're going to go clear some more dungeons, and your guild probably needs the experience."
I nodded, "Sure, let's go."
...
Back at base, I sat down heavily, "Man, unique skills are so powerful."
My second-in-command nodded, "They sure are, Klein, you planning to get one of theirs for yourself?"
I sighed and shook my head, "I'm never going to be able to beat Kirito or X, anyways. Besides, X was the one who taught me the weak point trick, so I can't exactly usurp his skill, can I?"
He laughed, "Probably not, then."
I got back up, "But that said, we can still help the clearers out, let's show the rest of SAO and Fuurinkazan is not to be messed with!"
The rest of the guild cheered, and we set off to kill some more monsters to level up and get more resources for the inevitable battle of Floor 100.
