After the entire ordeal with Death Gun, Sinon was introduced to ALO, and became a Cait Sith archer.
A few weeks later, the Holy Sword Excalibur turned up in the game. Personally, I don't really care, but Kirito wanted to get that sword before anyone else did, and so he dragged me into his party consisting of himself, Asuna, Leafa, Sachi, Klein, Silica, and Lisbeth.
...
As we jogged down the stairs into Jotunheim, everyone else started complaining about how long it was taking.
Kirito simply chuckled, "Hey, be glad I found this shortcut. Would you rather a journey consisting of a few minutes or a few hours?"
Saying that, he grabbed Sinon's tail and pulled hard.
He slowed down his pace as Sinon swiped at him with her claws, her face a furious crimson, "Next time you do that, you're getting a fire arrow right up the grill!"
I clapped a hand on Kirito's shoulder, "For your sake, don't do that again. The tail is considered an erotic area on a cat, so what you just did is basically identical to giving someone a handjob."
Kirito blanched as I cackled at his reaction, "Yeah, like I said, don't do it."
...
As we arrived in Jotunheim, I whistled appreciatively.
"Goddamn, whoever made this game really knew what they were doing." I commented, "Just look at this landscape."
The landscape that we were looking at was tinted an aquamarine hue. It was a world of snow and ice, sure, and it's at the bottom of the world tree, but what difference does that make?
It was beautiful, and that's a lot coming from me.
"Well then, where is the sword?" I asked to nobody in particular, but before anyone could answer, a lady appeared, telling us that players were killing the beast-type Evil Gods by request of Thrym, motivated by the reward of Excalibur, but it was all to Thrym's benefit, since after the beasts are all killed, then Thrym would be able to invade Alfheim. She then pointed to the bottom of the world tree, where there was a reversed pyramid of ice hanging. "Thrymheim is where the sword lies. I implore you, retrieve the sword and melt the castle of the King of Jotuns."
She disappeared.
"I'm assuming that's where it is, then." I commented, "Welp, let's go."
I drew my weapon and spread my wings, flying over to the tip of the pyramid, where there was an entrance.
I landed on the ground, but immediately, I was ambushed by a small squadron of... zombies? Skeletons? Undead Vikings.
What were they called? Thralls?
Something like that.
I immediately reacted, shooting one of them in the face and chanted a quick incantation that detonated the arrow, taking out three of them.
I was soon joined by Kirito and Leafa, and later, the rest of the group.
"Well, there's eight of us, and thirty of them. Offensive positions!" I yelled, disappearing in a burst of smoke and flanking around the thralls.
Everyone else got into position and attracted the aggro of the thralls.
Kirito, Klein, and Lisbeth led the charge, taking down thralls left, right and centre while I supported them from behind enemy lines, instantly killing thralls with well placed arrows to the nape.
Asuna and Leafa kept everyone topped up while Silica and Sinon supported them from the back lines. One with arrows and the other with pets.
Before long, the thrall army was dead, and we kept moving through the mini-dungeon.
Suddenly, Klein stopped, "There's someone here."
I looked where he was staring, and found a caged woman.
"It's a trap. It has to be." I stated.
Klein shook his head, "Who cares? It's a trapped maiden, my samurai code cannot allow me to leave her behind!"
I rolled my eyes, "Alright then, Mr Samurai. If she ends up killing us, I'm blaming you."
Klein cut down the bars of the ice cage, freeing the woman.
"Thank you, noble warriors, for freeing me. I will aid you in the retrieval of the Holy Sword and the defeat of the King of Jotuns, Thrym." She said, and suddenly, another health bar appeared on the top left of my vision.
Freyja.
Oh, so it was a goddess.
Klein looked at me smugly, and I sighed, "Fine, you win this time, but don't be surprised when the goddess turns out to be a god in disguise."
The goddess visibly flinched, but I don't think anyone else noticed but me.
We moved through the dungeon and found a giant guard.
Kirito and I both moved to take it down. I switched my weapon into melee mode, and dashed up the giant's huge body.
Kirito drew two swords and attacked the giant with several elemental sword skills in rapid succession.
As the giant tried to attack him, I ripped into its neck with the two blades, tearing out what I assume is one of its vertebrae.
Lovely. I stared at the crude depiction of the bone and rammed it down the giant's throat.
It reduced its HP to zero, and I dropped down to the ground.
The party stared at me. Kirito sheathed his swords, "Did you seriously just feed the giant a piece of its own spine?"
"Where else was I supposed to dispose of it? In case you haven't noticed, we're stuck in an eternal winter here. I can't exactly find a lava pool to burn it." I protested.
Suddenly, I got a notification.
"Item get: Jotun Spine Blade."
I threw the sword into the void.
"This game is toying with me." I growled.
Everyone laughed, even the AI, who shouldn't even have human emotions.
I grumbled as I kept walking, "Stupid game thinks I'm a fucking joke. Did my brother do this? Did he code the Seed to keep messing with me?"
This time, it was Kirito's time to pat me on the shoulder, "Don't mind it, X. Let's keep going."
"To get a sword that only you care about? Gee, thanks, I feel so much better already!" I exclaimed, sarcasm dripping from my words, forming a pool of poison in Kirito's mind.
I growled again, "Let's just go. The boss room should be up ahead."
A/N: A little bit of a side joke with X. Yes, I went there.
