(Mention of abuse up ahead) ( Astrid's POV) I hear my alarm clock go off so I shut it off and get out of bed. When I stood up I almost fell over I forgot that my dad beat me last night. I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Oh my god I look terrible, I have a busted lip, a black eye and a cut right under my eye.
I went back to my room and I got my clothes and I turned on the shower and started to take off my clothes. I looked at the mirror and I had a bruise on my ribs and on my stomach which hurt like hell. I finished getting undressed and got in the shower.

I then started to try and cover up all the bruises on my face and clean up my cuts. I covered as much as I can and I put a band-aid under my eye, you can still see the bruise which I'll have to come up with a lie if anyone asks.
I checked my phone to see what time it is and oh my god I'm gonna be late it's 7:40 school starts at 8:00 damn it. I started to go down stairs after I grabbed my bag good thing my parents aren't here.
I went outside and got in my car that I got with my money that I keep hidden from my parents 'cause they'll take it.

I got in and put my bag in the passenger seat and drove to school which is not that far by the way.

I got to school on time and I went to my locker and put my stuff in my locker when I felt someone hug me from behind.
"Hey beautiful" Melissa said. I turned around and saw her smiling. But when she saw the cuts and the bruises her smile dropped."what happened did they do this to you"she said very worried and also angry. I put my head down and that's when she knew.
"Ugh I hate them so much your staying at my house tonight. Ok"she said not asked so I knew that wasn't a question. I nodded and that's when Damon came and saw the bruise and he clenched his jaw and took a deep breath knowing that he might hit someone.
"Guys I'm fine ok and I'll stay with Melissa for two days how does that sound" I tried to make them feel better 'cause they don't like to see me hurt.
They nodded and said fine.
"Hey did you hear about the avengers coming to the school I think their looking for their soulmate maybe it's you." Melissa smirked.
"I'm not their soulmate and even if I was they would reject me because I'm not good enough." I said sadly. Damon looked at me and he said " you are enough and if you're soulmates don't see that then they aren't meant for you. And if you say that again I will lock you in a room full of mirrors so you can see how pretty you are." Melissa nodded agreeing with Damon.
I started to laugh and gave them a smile happy that they are my best friends I could never live without them.
We started to head to the auditorium but this has me thinking what if the avengers are my soulmates?
