Author's note: Just know that this author is an incredibly dumb moron that has not been in a bio class in a while. When you see the part about DNA and RNA, please have mercy.

The lab was white, clean, and pristine. All except the area I stood. Blood dripped from the many cuts that laced my arms and back. I breathed in heavily. When was the last time I had to use so much blood for such a long period of time. Elena sweated across from me. Mother Miranda prepared another of the countless samples from the head and megamycete.

"You got her too big of a fucking sample," Elena hissed as she hummed and took her measurements.

I nodded my agreement. For the past two days, at least I think it has been two, we have used our virus fueled power on countless experiment ideas. Mother Miranda trailed over to us and smiled sweetly as she placed another sample in a white dish. I shook my head. We were able to get coagulated forms, but nothing remained concrete. It was like we were missing a third key component. I let a few droplets of blood fall onto the sample from my palm and focused. The blood slowly coagulated and multiplied. Elena's flash of light radiated on the specimen. The coagulation of blood started to create the form of fetus after a few moments. I pushed myself further and created the blood faster and faster. The fetus grew. I added a few more droplets and begged that this worked somehow. Elena visibly irked as she tried to reform organs and skin. I aimed to add nutrients through the blood. As it started to take on a more natural form, it exploded again. I groaned as sweat beaded on my forehead.

"Mother Miranda, may we take a break?" I asked aloud as I slowly healed my wounds. "We are obviously wasting samples." The winged woman hummed before she nodded and called us to her.

"I just don't understand what I could possibly be missing. Cathleen matches with Eva's DNA. She is obviously a good donor and with your blood, that should help the process of regeneration." She heavily sighed as she turned to us. "Would anyone like lunch?" Elena nodded as I raised a hand. "I'll make a call." She quickly left the room. I stared down at the notes that she had on her table.

"Do you even understand what is on those papers?" I shrugged.

"A bit from the experiments my parents did on me. They would show me different scales and charts and explained the data."

"What did they use you for anyways?"

"Well, my dad was a scientist. He just wanted to know why. My mother, on the other hand, wanted to be able to recreate it so she could sell it as some sort of weaponry." Elena slowly nodded her head. "Why did your parents send you to Umbrella?"

"They were too religious and called me out for being a devil. So, I went willingly when they heard about what I could do. God, you save one kid's life in a hospital, next you know a pharmaceutical agency is banging down your door!" I chuckled quietly as I continued to scan the documents. What was the missing link to all of this? I glanced back at the dead head and then down at the DNA scale that I saw. I heard the door open behind me.

"Find something interesting Caiden?" Mother Miranda asked behind me. I looked back from the head to the scale and then to Mother Miranda.

"I have a theory," I said absentmindedly.

"That being?" She asked as her chin rested on the back of my shoulder. I internally cringed. That was reserved for Donna only.

"So...what if...take one of the samples and added your blood to it?"

"And why would I want to do that?"

"If my parent's biology lecture has any weight to it, cells die extremely fast. Emphasis on fast. That head has been dead for a whiiiile now. So, just because the DNA is there, does not mean we can just as easily bring the dead back to life and regenerate it in that natural state. You were her mother. Your DNA would match hers well enough and could possibly help the RNA strands a more familiar host to turn toward, instead of trying to recreate inside of a dead nucleus, in order to kickstart that process of coming back to the living. While my blood cells mass produced the energy needed and carriers, Elena's regeneration could gear more to your healthy donor cells that could mix with Eva's/Cathleen's dead cells. Well...at least...its an idea." Mother Miranda silently pondered in her head as hands fell to my hips and steadied herself against me. My skin crawled, but I gritted my teeth and bared it. My eyes trailed up toward Elena and her eyes turned away from the sight.
