A New Beginning

Arriving To A New Place

  Once the plane landed Marinette packed up her things. She was nervous to step off the plane, she didn't know why at first but then she realized that when she does step off the plane she'll be in an unknown place. It was scary to think about leaving the place she knew as her home even though she was in an abusive environment. At least she knew what to expect. Here she didn't even know what her room looked like.

   Tikki, comforting her, whispered softly in her high voice, "Don't worry Marinette, everything will turn out okay. Trust me alright?" When Marinette first started to make her own clothes she made secret pockets by her collarbone and heart so that Tikki and the other Kwamis could talk to her without anyone hearing them.

   "Alright." Marinette murmured even though she still sounded unsure. She gathered all of her confidence that was left and slowly started to make her way off the plane into unknown territory.

  Stepping off the plane she immediately spotted Jagged and Penny in the big crowd of people. How could she not? With the way Jagged was jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas yelling out her name. Penny was standing next to him and when she saw Marinette she smiled and waved. Making her way to them, Jagged ran up to her and hugged her to death.

  "I'm so excited you're going to be living with us Marinette! It's going to be totally rock n' roll!" Jagged screamed thankfully people just glanced at them then carried on with their lives. Only Penny noticed her flinching at the loud noise and looked around nervously. Penny knew that her parents informed them the Marinette had Social Anxiety disorder but she didn't think it was this bad.

   "I missed you too, Uncle Jagged." Her voice was quiet and soft as though wanting to be heard but too shy to speak. 

   "Jagged stop hugging Marinette so tightly you're going to kill her before she even gets to live with us." Penny scolds him as he lets go of Marinette frowning at the now empty space; sighing Penny then turns to speak to Marinette in a softer tone then before. "Marinette, it's good to see you again. How have you been doing?" 

   "I've been doing better knowing that I will finally be getting away from my old classmates and their torture but I'm terrified at what will happen next in life." She was looking at the ground now starting to feel like she just offended her Godparents in some way. 

  "It's going to be alright Marinette aside from the villains here, this place isn't that bad. Who knows you could end up meeting your soulmate here too. This could be a new beginning for you." At the mention of her soulmate Marinette's face reddens a thousands colors of reds while Penny wore the most smug smile on her face.

  "Alrighty let's give you a tour of the city with the final stop being your new home! You're going to love it, Marinette!" If there was any way possible Jagged became more and more excited with every word he was saying. 

   They walked to where Penny parked the car and drove through town. They showed Marinette where the safe places of town where and the not so safe parts were. They showed her where her school was going to be and where she could get the best fabric in the city. They knew her so well. 

  When they arrived home that night Marinette sat down her things in her room and went straight to bed being too tired from the day to do anything else. As Marinette sat there she thought of all the good and bad things that could happen to her in Gotham but her last thoughts were of how Penny stated this could be her new beginning and she was willing to give it a try.
