The room they had her in was all white. Almost lifeless like her.
"Hey..." Her raspy voice called out to me, "Come sit next to me..."
I hated that she was going to go, and I couldn't accept it.
I made my way and sat on the chair that was seated next to the bed.
"Always know, I love you, Ibuki."
"Ibuki loves you too, (F/N)."
We told each other those same words so many times it was hard to count. It's in moments like these that the words mean so much.
She smiles at me before softly singing, making me hear her beautiful one last time.
"Fly me to the moon...
Let me play among the stars."
"Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars."
I continued.
"In other words: Hold my hand
In other words: baby, kiss me."
"Fill my heart with song.
And let me sing forevermore."
"You are all I long for.
All I worship and adore."
"In other words: please, be true
In other words: I love you..."
She finished and her eyes slowly started closing, filling my body with anxiety.
I watched and watched as she breathed her last breath.
I screamed and sobbed as I held onto her lifeless body.
I hated that it wasn't a nightmare, a prank, a hoax.
The girl I loved with all my heart was gone...
