𝐈𝐍 𝟏𝟐 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄, 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 Sirius Black called her home, there was a certain room, on the third floor between two of the guest bedrooms. It was four feet in width and length, with no windows, the door sleek iron, with shutters that closed and opened manually from the outside and a flap at the bottom for food to be pushed in.  Though it was barely ever used.

The children that inhabited the house had dubbed it, The Pit.

The Pit was a room used by the parents of the household to discipline their children when they felt that a good cane to the bottoms or knuckles wasn't enough.

Unfortunately for Sirius, that was often.

Every time her mother or her father tried to throw her in there she put up quite the fight. The last time her father (when he had been around) had taken it upon himself to throw her into The Pit, she had given him a concussion. It had doubled her sentence from two days to four.

The last time her mother had thrown her in there she was left stunned as stiff as a statue, the grey walls closing in on her from all sides as her mother staggered away with a broken nose. She was left in there for two weeks.

Regulus Arcturus Black was no different on the rare occasion that he ended up doing something that equates to that punishment. He kicked and screamed, clawed and bit. He had gotten their father in the neck with sharpened nails a handful of times. He had also torn into their mother's flesh with his teeth more often than not.

As you can tell, the Black siblings were not fans of enclosed spaces for this very reason.

Many people believed the Black siblings were complete opposites. It wasn't until you saw them at their most desperate did the line between them blur. They always fought first. Kicking and flailing, their magic lashing out with their distress. Then, where Sirius would curse and kick and claw at the walls, yelling at the top of her lungs for the good first half of her punishment, Regulus would cry and beg. When that didn't work they switched. Regulus would start screeching and cursing and clawing at the walls kicking at the door, while Sirius would resort to crying and begging.

They would both rather rage and beg than admit any wrongdoing. Was it pride or simply spite, they did not know. They would rather rot than apologize and that was something most of the Black's had in common.
