When Cael finally woke up, he was laying in a bed of golden silks, with the magnificent sun shining down upon him through regal curtains made of the finest cloth. However, one had a tear. The woodwork and stone working of the whole city was legendary, and both the clothing and the Aruani were beautiful. Cael breathed in the wonderful scents arising from all corners in the kingdom.
When Cael tried to get out of bed, he found himself chained to the bed with a shimmering white chain. Cael was confused at why he was imprisoned.
After waiting a long time, someone finally came for him. It was an Aruani, dressed in the most elaborate clothing and tattoos.
"I see your awake now..." The Aruani observed, "what you had awoken was a Dread Knight, the Dead Gods personal guard. More and more have been appearing lately everywhere in the forest!"
"I did not know... I'm sorry, just let me go!"
"I'm afraid that's not possible, you came in close contact with it and thus I cannot insure the safety of my people because you could become a demon. Trust me were doing all we can."
Cael waited for 2 days, getting fed with food from them, he was completely dependent on them, and he didn't like it. Also he was haunted by the overwhelming thought that the next time he opens his eyes he may be a demon. And finally, they let him go.
"It had been long enough that you can no longer turn into a demon, this time, but you must be cautious, if a Dread Knight ever were to hit you with their sword or grab your head, the process would be irreversible, and nearly instantaneous."
Cael got a sword just like theirs, golden and shimmering like a ray of light that slices the darkness. And Variam received a giant, sharp spear. He also got heavy armor, thick like a wall. They nourished themselves and went on their way in guidance of the Aruani king. He had told them they need to go to the Anenm mountains.
