"You've had a secret family this entire time kid? Why the heck did you hide her? She's gorgeous!" An older man said making me laugh as Derek started to wake up in his car seat. Making sure I locked the breaks on the stroller so I could get him out and not wake Darin.
"Did you say his name was Derek?" The black man asked, he had tears in his eyes as he looked at Reid then Derek.
"Yeah, after the best big brother in the world." Spence told him as the man pulled him in a tight hug tears falling from his eyes. Daisy being confused tried to make them stop, making some laugh.
"No crying mister." She told him sternly.
"Yes ma'am." The man said pulling away from the hug chuckling.
"It's nice to meet you Mrs. Reid, I'm Aaron Hotchner, you can just call me Hotch or Aaron." The man who spoke to me earlier said shaking my hand.
"I'm JJ, it's nice to meet you. How long have you both been married?"
"4 years 11 months and 360 days." Spence and I said at the same time making them look at us like we were crazy before we laughed.
"I'm David. You have a beautiful family. That is Penelope and Emily." He said introducing the other two ladies who had yet to speak they still kept looking between Spencer and I shock still on their faces.
"Hello Delilah. I'm Derek Morgan." The black man said holding out his hand to shake making me smile as I shook it.
"Spencer talks about you a lot. He insisted we name our first son after you and Gideon. Daisy was inspired by Penelope and her middle name is Jemily for Emily, Darin was named after JJ, David and Aaron, if I'm correct right Spence?" I asked him as he nodded looking at his shocked team.
"Daisy for Penelope's outlook on every case we work, the little bit of sunshine in those dark moments. Darin's middle name is Jennifer." He explained as JJ looked at him tears in her eyes smiling.
As time went on, more of the teams families started showing up. Diana was brought in, she hates flying with a passion, but as soon as she saw Daisy, all her anger and fear left when her granddaughter hugged her tight. Morgan's mother and sisters had arrived, along with Penelope's brothers, Emily's family was out of the country, and Rossi's daughter and grandson was already in town and rushed over with her husband.
"Delilah, do you have any other family that they could possibly try to hurt to get to Spencer?" Hotch asked me as we sat around the conference room, well the spouses sat with the team.
"No, I was an orphan. Spence, Diana, and the kids are all I have as family. There are only 4 other people that I can think of, but they know how to get to safety and hide." I told them feeding a hungry little Derek his bottle, Spence was holding Darin she was pretty calm looking at the team.
We didn't know anymore, than they did this morning, the director had taken the BAU off the case due to the fact, it was beyond personal at this point, but they were still under protective custody in headquarters, thankfully they had an area that was living style that they had eventually brought us to. Spence and his team were sent to a debriefing before being released from duty until the case is solved.
"Hi, I'm Fran Morgan, Derek's mom. You're Spencer's wife, right?" An older sweet mixed woman asked me, while I was playing with Derek and Darin. Daisy was with Diana and Beethoven, while Shakespeare rested at my feet.
"Yes ma'am, Delilah. It's nice to meet you. This is my son Derek and my daughter Darin. This bear is Shakespeare." I told her snickering a little as she smiled wide placing her hand on her heart.
"I was told. Derek hasn't hushed about his new nephew that was named after him. It might make his head bigger." She said as we laughed, trying to find some happiness in this.
"Well even though I just met the team today, Spence always made sure to let me know who they were and who they were to him. He loves those guys, they're a family and I'm proud that the kids have some amazing role models." I told her as the team was finally released from work and able to join us in the family quarters, we'd all be staying in.
"So, Delilah can you tell us some about yourself?" Penelope asked from her seat under her husband, Derek's, arm, smiling wide at me.
"I'm 27, 3 years, 4 months, 17 days, and 8 hours younger than Spencer. I grew up in Texas, after my mom was killed in a house fire that took the lives of her and my father when I was only 3 years old. I am a stay-at-home mommy to these three angels and two pups. I write children's books and mystery novels and I homeschool Daisy, she is currently learning German and Algebra."
"How do you know down to the hour?" Derek asked me like I was crazy as Spence laughed, bouncing Daisy on his leg with Darin cuddling in his arms and Derek in my arms.
"She's has an IQ of 252 and an eidetic memory." He said proudly as they looked between us both shocked.
"My mother was philosophy professor at UT and my father was part of the FBI for Texas. When I left for the orphanage, my parents already had a plan for my education and life growing up, since they knew with my father's job at any moment, I could become an orphan. They set aside trust funds, savings accounts in my name, and had me set to go to an exclusive orphanage. I spent most of my time there reading and learning anything I could and training. It was one of the requirements of my parents that I at least take up Karate, Kung fu, kickboxing, and Jiu Jitsu. They kept as much as they could from my parents and when I was old enough not to destroy it, they gave it to me, I was 6 by then." I told them as Penelope looked at me with sad eyes. "I'm okay, I promise. I have an amazing husband and three little ones I couldn't ask for better. Do you want to hold Derek, Derek?"
He looked excited as I placed my tiny newborn in his arms, taking Daisy from Spence.
"Hey little man. I'm your Uncle Derek. I can't wait to teach you how to play football and restore houses." He baby talked to Der, who looked up at him, giving him a gummy smile.
"How old are they?" Penelope asked looking down at the tiny on in her husband's arms.
"3 weeks, 2 days, 3 hours and 19 minutes and Daisy is 3 years 2 months 5 days and 22 hours old." Spencer and I said again at the same time as his team just smiled fondly.
"See, now if you'd give me one, like I've been asking, you could do this every day. But no, don't make me a grandma, I guess." Fran said sarcastically coming over to the area as we laughed.
"Mama. Really? I'm trying to bond with my nephew." He said making everyone laugh, in this dark situation.
"He is really cute, Spencer you do have a really beautiful family. Congratulations, but no more hiding them." Aaron told him patting him on the back as him and his wife Haley smiled holding his son.
"Thank you Hotch, we actually wanted to ask you guys a question." Spence said a bit nervously as we all sat around the living room type area.
"What is it Spence?" Emily asked concerned like the others.
"We were wondering if Hotch and Haley would be Daisy's godparents, if you and JJ would be Darin's godmothers, and if Derek and Penelope would be Derek's godparents." I told her as they looked touched, Emily letting some tears escape her eyes nodding, while Hotch beamed with pride, Derek not even trying to hide his joy, while Penelope was crying and smiling.
"Of course, we'd more than happy to have the honor of that role. Not every day you get to be the godparents of geniuses." Haley said making the atmosphere brighten up.
"What about me?" Rossi asked as his daughter laughed hitting him playfully.
"Well, you're Grandpa Rossi of course. They need your wisdom and cooking skills." Spence told him making everyone laugh.
